The majority of the 212 attendees at the Freshmen Showcase were from the Metro but there were outstate names at the event that need to be noted for the next four years!

[player_tooltip player_id='2560424' first='Abdullahi' last='Ahmed'] of St. Cloud Tech/Team Get Shook (5'10 Pg). One of the better ball pressuring defensive players that was seen at the event this past weekend. Ahmed looks to be one of the younger players that could make an impact in the Tech program this year.

[player_tooltip player_id='2560463' first='Gavin' last='Bauer'] of JWP/Minnesota Lightning (6'2 Wing). When it comes to scorers at this event, few of them are as accomplished at the varsity level as Bauer. In fact, you can count on one hand the amount of guys at this event that have made a real varsity impact and Gavin is one of those players.

[player_tooltip player_id='2560478' first='Isaiah' last='Farrell'] of Perham/[program_tooltip program_id='2076003' first='West' last='Central United'] (5'10 Pg). There was a host of quality guards at the event and one of the names we took home was that of [player_tooltip player_id='2560478' first='Isaiah' last='Farrell']. There were a couple games on Sunday where he was one of the two best or he was the best player on the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='2417472' first='Gavin' last='Groehler'] of Rochester Mayo/Minnesota Takeoff (6'9 Big). Gavin caught the attention because of his size but then it became apparent that this is a big that has some skill and a touch too. It will be very interesting to see how he develops in the future.

[player_tooltip player_id='2394170' first='Alex' last='Loos'] of Goodhue/58 Hoops (6'2 W). Alex is the most accomplished talent on this list as he was the second leading scorer on a team that made the state tournament last year. Loos has big expectations for this winter as goes Goodhue who is a top ten team.

[player_tooltip player_id='2560480' first='Isse' last='Mahat'] of St. Cloud Tech/Uncheckable (6'4 F). When it comes to players that put the ball on the floor and used touch, agility and strength to get to the rim and score, Mahat was one of the better players at the event.

[player_tooltip player_id='2385822' first='Brooks' last='Rechtzigel'] of Cannon Falls/Minnesota Lightning (6'0 G). Brooks made an impact this past 14u season as one of the better playmakers in his grade and we expect that to carry over into his four year JV/V career.

[player_tooltip player_id='2562308' first='Jack' last='Sabolik'] of West Central Area/[program_tooltip program_id='2076005' first='West' last='Central Wildcats'] (5'11 Sg). When it comes to activity and doing some of everything, that's been Jack in 14u and throughout different events.

[player_tooltip player_id='2560528' first='Ryan' last='Steinke'] of Mankato West/[program_tooltip program_id='2075685' first='Minnesota' last='Select'] (6'0 Sg). A skilled guard that also plays with some of the toughness we have seen from his brother Kyle before him. A player with good potential in the Big Nine.

[player_tooltip player_id='2560435' first='Cale' last='Tufto'] of Dawson-Boyd/[program_tooltip program_id='2075867' first='SW' last='Minnesota Stars'] (5'11 G). When it comes to shooters, [player_tooltip player_id='2560435' first='Cale' last='Tufto'] is one to watch going forward. The Jacks have some young talent coming up to keep the program moving forward and Cale is one of those players.

Nicholas Van Heel of Albany/Mid Minnesota Hoops (6'3 F). Either Van Heel is bigger than his listed height or he played bigger than that listed height all event long. He was a double-double guy in the paint scoring and rebounding throughout the day.
