PHN Middle School Camp (IL): Team 4 vs 5 Standouts

Are you searching for the top talent in the Midwest? Look no further. The Prep Hoops Next Middle School Camp was stacked with talent. The top 6th-8th graders put on a show in Lisle, WI. There were some familiar faces but also some new names that NEED to be on the radar as they continue to develop into promising athletes. Below are some of the athletes that stood out throughout the camp.    Bell caps his summer ball playing with a solid program in Illinois Fast. He returns to Harvest Christian Academy this fall. At camp he used his height and athleticism to his advantage. He covered a lot of ground in the open floor in transition. Bell had the presence of mind to seal off smaller defenders in the post when the opportunities presented themselves.     Partee comes to camp after running with The Illinois Kings this summer. He heads back to Minooka Junior High School this fall. During camp he was on a mission when it came to guarding the ball. Speeding up ball handlers and causing chaos. Offensively proved capable of creating space for himself for jumpshots. He was also a threat to knock down deep range threes off of the catch     Smith Jr. split his summer ball with The [program_tooltip program_id='2075383' first='Chicago' last='Demons'] and Chicago Showtime. He returns to Carter Elementary this fall. At camp his approach was that of a high IQ player. His decision making and shot selection was very impressive. When Smith was able to find a rhythm with the ball in his hands, he became a serious threat for defenders.     Lemons comes to camp after developing his game in the summer months. He heads back to Clissold Middle School this fall. He wore his big guard cap at camp. He was pushing the pace on both sides of the ball. He hit teammates on time and on target in transition. Lemons really stood out when operating in the paint. His patience and pivots were rewarded with “and 1's” and timely assists for Team 4.     Fuller caps off his summer ball with Darius Garland Elite. He returns to Peoria Christ Lutheran this fall. During camp he was versatile for team 5. He used his athleticism to get easy points in transition. He filled lanes correctly, and also led the break with great court vision. Defensively he proved to be dynamic. He was capable of guarding paint and perimeter players just the same.     Brook comes to camp after running summer hoops with Chicago Showtime. He returns to Washington Elementary this fall. He wore his slasher cap all afternoon. He capitalized off of timely cuts to the basket. Brooks proved to finish strong at the basket with either hand.     Rader caps his summer ball with Nike [program_tooltip program_id='2078449' first='[program_tooltip program_id='2076910' first='Meanstreets' last='']' last='']. He returns to Geneva for fall ball. He was an offensive threat during camp. He provided solid ball security for team 5. He was steady when operating on all three levels of the floor. Most impressive was his ability to heat up and score it in succession.     Meier comes to camp after showcasing his talents with Prolific. He heads to Manteno for his fall ball. During camp he took an inside-out approach to his offense. He put pressure on the basket with frequent cuts to the rim. He proved to be crafty when scoring in the paint. Meier proved to have extended his range and spaced the floor out a great deal for team 5.
