The Prep Hoops Illinois Sophomore ID Camp was a huge success as we saw prospects from all over the state. Some new prospects and others already established as top tier players participated. Here we examine the players that stood out on Teams 1 and 2 at the camp!

Team 7

[player_tooltip player_id='2323606' first='Asa' last='Harris'] (Leo)

Harris is a lead guard that is on the smaller side, but is so quick on both ends. Offensively he is shifty with the rock in his hands and making plays off the bounce for himself as well as others. Also like his mid-range pull up game quite a bit. Defensively he is pesky on the ball with active hands.

Jonathan Costello (De La Salle)

Costello signed up the day of the camp and man did he make quite an impression! The 6'4” small forward has good length and explosiveness as a scorer. The lefty lit it up with his slick transition scoring and crisp ball handling creating off the bounce. Capable three point shooter and had a sweet looking three point shot. Lot of projectability to like down the road here.

[player_tooltip player_id='2409221' first='Evan' last='Maciaga'] (Naperville Central)

This 6'4” wing is a thick bodied wing that scored in the paint with runners. Uses his physical gifts to beat defenders. Also pounded the offensive glass for second chance points.

Team 8

[player_tooltip player_id='2125687' first='Travis' last='Brown'] (West Aurora)

Brown earned MVP honors of the camp with a massive performance. In their first five on five game he was nothing short of masterful! The West Aurora lead guard scored from all three levels. Elite handle being able to get wherever he wanted. Creative finisher in the lane living in the paint from his lead guard spot. Also had an array of threes including a couple of super deep ones! Makes good decisions overall with the ball in his hands and swipes the rock from opponents as a defender. Top 10 player in the class no doubt!

[player_tooltip player_id='2425956' first='Perry' last='Tchiegne'] (Benet)

This Benet combo guard continues to elevate his stock each and every time we see him play. Angular lefty that will continue to grow. He has a handle where opponents just can't get it away from him. Slick getting in the paint where he can drop dimes for finish himself with acrobatic layups. Maneuvers his body so well through traffic. Plays at his own pace and never allows the defense to dictate to him what they are going to do. Also displayed a sweet mid-range game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2323596' first='Noah' last='Emmanuel'] (Whitney Young)

Emmanuel is without question one of the most intriguing posts in the class from an upside standpoint. At 6'9” the five man is super athletic and has the ability to be a game changer as an offensive rebounder, mobile defender, and athletic finisher. Did hit a top of the key three when we were watching, but the shot was a bit up and down on the day. Has some Derek Lively like qualities in there that if he can be more consistent with it could be one of the top posts in this group.
