Slay displayed an innate feel at both ends of the floor. Always in the right spot for rebounds, won 50/50 balls, set great screens, beat his matchup with a well-timed backdoor cut, came off of curl screens at the right moment to get the 1-2 footwork down before shooting. Slay stuck 3 putbacks in traffic midway through the 1H to give Gateway the lead, closed off several defensive possessions down the stretch with a rebound amongst the trees, and stuck two midrange jumpers to preserve the lead.

-An explosive, scoring PG that always impacts the game in a variety of areas, this matchup was no different for the 2027 PG. Cherry got paint touches, was a lightning bolt in transition, hit shots from all 3 levels, and was his usual pesky self defensively. His feel for when to pass and when to shoot improves each time, but I think finding a steady diet of easier shots at the rim or creating easier shots with better off-ball movement will improve his efficiency as a scorer.

-Stepped into a bigger role for a Gateway team missing a few of their bigs and answered the bell, setting the tone early with two midrange jumpers in the face of good contests. Powers has more burst and vertical pop than you would expect, creating well off the bounce as the primary passer but also rotating the rock well as a standstill connector on the wing. He competed defensively, forced some tough looks, and collected 2 steals and a helpside block in transition.

-A lot of upside to project with Liu's blend of perimeter skills and positional size. Liu hit C+S 3s, showed nice touch with either hand in the paint, used his pivot well to create better finishing angles around the rim, and handles it well enough to get past his matchup and to the rim. Will be interesting to watch his progression as he grows, adds muscle, and settles in to be more comfortable in B Maze's offense.

-Woods stood out as a guard prospect that is incredibly quick off the bounce, coming off the bench to give his team a burst of energy with 4p 2r 1s in his first few mins of game play. Woods gets off the floor well for rebounds and blocks, was pretty aggressive attacking the rim, and stepped into a nice midrange pull-up off the bounce in the 2H.

-Didn't score as much as he normally does in this game but Torres works well within the flow of this team as a play-maker with a tight handle and consistent jumper. Playing on a team that runs 4-guard lineups pretty regularly, he is ready to step in to take and make open jumpers when the ball swings his way but also keeps his head up to find the weakside big in the short corner. Always come away impressed with his court presence and patience on the offensive end of the floor, would like to see him add more muscle to his frame to take advantage of his vision and compete at a higher level defensively.
