Familiar Faces in Different Places Pt. 2
In part two of our Familiar Faces in Different Places article, you will find a big man who changed not only his conference but city landscape as well. Add in A talented guard and wing and you get another list of talented players who will play at the next level. Here is part two of Familiar Faces in Different Places.
Abba Lawal 6’11 Center. Walnut Hills to Withrow (#11 Class of 2019)
A major, major get for the Tigers who should have Lawal from game one with him not playing last season. The transfer of Abba should make Withrow one of the top teams not only in the ECC but the city as well. With the Tigers losing some of their top post players to graduation, adding Lawal shot-blocking, rebounding and pure size will be a huge boost for Coach O’Connell. This is also a conference that the junior is familiar with as well having played for Walnut Hills his freshman season.
Alec Pfriem 6’5 W/F. Roger Bacon to Moeller (#17 Class of 2019)
One of the first transfers of the summer, Moeller gets even better by adding on the most complete wings in Cincinnati. This young man can knock down open shots and is very good in transition as a decision-maker and a finisher. Add the fact that Pfriem is also one of the better team defenders in the city, and you have a player that should fit right into Coach Carl Kremer system.
Steve Stewart 5’11 PG/G. Shroder to Taft (#100 Class of 2018)
One of the toughest players in the city, Stewart will bring that along with versatility to the Senators roster. Steve has a very tight handle and uses to get in the lane to finish with a variety of floaters and lay-ups around the rim. While playing with Club Ohio Davenport over the summer the senior also showed improve in his outside shooting. Combined with Demarco Bradley Jr. and Dashawn Lawrence, the addition of Stewart gives the Senators arguably the best guard trio in the city.
