The 6’7 sophomore scored 16 points for Head Coach Greg Moultrie’s Hawks and continues look more comfortable playing on the perimeter at the offensive end. His upside and potential is evident and he will be a sought-after prospect in the 2028 class.

Asa warmed up as the game went on against Dutchtown finishing with 11 points, 12 rebounds and 2 blocks. Montgomery passes the eye-test. He has a college-ready body with great athleticism and strength. Asa gets great elevation on his jump shot, effortlessly rising up to shoot over contests. Improving his shot selection will help him be more efficient as he forced some tough shots in the first half before settling into the flow of the game. Asa can knock down pull-up jumpers, threes and is a threat for backdoor lobs. Montgomery has one of the highest ceilings in his class. High Major programs got involved this offseason.

Montgomery truly stood out during the drills, but he particularly excelled in the 5-on-5 games. He showcased a complete set of skills and demonstrated his ability to dominate the game across multiple statistical categories. He runs the floor effectively and possesses great body control, making him an impressive rebounder on both ends of the court. Montgomery is outstanding in transition, and his capability to rebound defensively allows the guards to space the floor effectively. He is a high flyer, consistently finishing above the rim. His pull-up jumper is ready for the next level, and he can shoot the three-pointer as well as drive to the basket. Additionally, he makes the necessary passes to facilitate his teammates’ scoring opportunities. Overall, he was one of the most polished players in the gym.
