2nd weekend in a row seeing him compete. Still impressed with mobility and size. Could put him in the 2 or 3 slot as well with handling capabilities. Made more of a difference in the paint using length to challenge defensively in the late morning game Saturday. Had 12 points and multiple rebounds in a close hard fought battle win. Rolled after screening to retrieve a dish off And1. Had another big follow-up O board to convert. A balanced overall threat.

One of the best players I got to see today. Very long and can be defined as position less. Comfortable on the handle dribbling on the breakaway or in transition. Really uses his length effectively in most of the phases of the game. Creates a big defensive presence with his wing span getting tips on passes or shots. Caught fire from 3 in the last contest of the day knocking down atleast a handful. Can pull up and shoot the midrange off the dribble or take it to the cup. Drew a lot of contact and went to the stripe quite a bit as well. Remains consistent on the glass.

Otten proved to be a versatile force for M14 Hoops during the Windy City Wars. His length, athleticism, and rebounding presence made a major impact, particularly on the defensive boards. He sparked quick transition opportunities by taking rebounds coast-to-coast or setting up teammates as a big playmaker. His ability to play through contact and his consistent weak-side rebounding were major assets for M14.

It was a tough game for M14 Hoops 15u Gold as they ran into a bit of a buzzsaw against The Academy by O3 15u. However, despite losing 68-43, Otten stood out scoring 23 points. The 6’2″ wing did a little bit of everything offensively showing off fluid athleticism, strong ball handling ability, and some perimeter shot-making as well.

The lengthy SG was very productive Friday night for M14 Gold. Forced numerous turnovers defensively vs Big3. Also displayed a nice shooting stroke for someone his age as he buried numerous outside shots. Really got hot at the end of the opening half with three 3-pointers in a row. Outscored Big3 by himself in that frame. Showed he can also score inside wi to a put-back unity in transition as well as a turnaround floater. Will attend Benet Academy next fall. Love the potential in this kid.

Otten outscored Big3 all by himself in the opening half tonight! Had 18 in the first half while his opponents only had 12. Confident three-level scorer who really made it rain from outside. Big run midway through the game as he hit three outside shots in a row. Lengthy SG has such a bright future! (Also, he’s not 5’6” anymore)
