Expert Analysis

Finished with 19 points, doing most of his damage around the blocks and in the painted area. He does a nice job staying within himself and not forcing looks, consistently putting himself in good spots on the floor to clean up rebounds on both ends. He also showed the ability to find others with his passing. I liked how he sought out contact on the attack, which led to several trips to the foul line. At times his movements can look a bit robotic, but his productivity is hard to ignore. He should be a priority recruit at the PSAC and Division II level.

A focal point for the Bulldogs in the frontcourt, Lasher showed his IQ and versatility on his way to 14 points in the resounding win. He operated all over the floor, playing with patience but also smartly and decisively on every catch. He flowed smoothly between the interior and perimeter, facilitating from both the high and low post, stretching the floor as a shooter, and showing soft hands as a roller to the rim. Defensively, while a bit limited from an athletic standpoint, he was effective using his size and strength to defend his area around the basket. He should emerge onto scholarship radars this spring and summer but will first look to lead West York on a run in the 5A state bracket.

Emerging as one of the better all-around forwards in the area, Lasher has nearly doubled his scoring production from a year ago while establishing West York as a district contender with a 21-1 record, good for the third seed in the upcoming tournament. The lefty is a skilled matchup problem from the frontcourt with a versatile offensive skillset. While not a standout athlete, he shows good positional awareness and carves out position inside with his broad shoulders and strong footwork. He’s a threat to pop or roll after setting a screen with shooting ability out to the perimeter in spurts. Still flying a bit under the radar, Lasher figures to draw scholarship-level attention over the next year on his current trajectory.

. The stretch forward is in line for a major increase in statistics after a great off-season. His first offer came from Pitt-Johnstown, but it surely won’t be the only that Breckin will receive. He has a smooth stroke that translates from the perimeter and is equally talented scoring inside. A relentless rebounder with great touch and footwork, Lasher has all the tools necessary to become a great player.

Lasher was a force for his York Ballers squad doing a little bit of everything for them. He has the ability to finish through contact around the bucket and gets rewarded with trips to the free throw line. He was in good positioning to come up with offensive rebounds and keep possessions going for longer periods of time. His soft hands allow him to catch passes with ease. Lasher also showed that he can space the floor and scored from behind the arc. His best basketball is still ahead of him and continues to get better with time. He is due for a breakout high school season.
