Expert Analysis
Tom Keller | Prep Hoops Scout
McDuffie is a quick-witted guard who is a frequent paint toucher. For a smaller guard he has a viable runner he pulls out when attacking trees down low. Has no issues finding shooters for scoring chances. McDuffie’s shot is a tad funky but he can find ways to convert from deep. He is effective using shot fakes. Like how he is able to process the game on the fly.

McDuffie is an absolute hound on the defensive end, and that end alone is where most of his value lies. He guarded Payne of Brimmer and May for virtually an entire game and consistently made life difficult for him in the full court. The 6-foot junior has phenomenal lateral quickness, and he has active and quick hands, so he’s an amazing point-of-attack defender. He also has great conditioning and can guard 94 feet for the entire game. Offensively, McDuffie is solid and does what you need him to do—he starts the offense and can make open threes. He’s a hustle guy who should find a D3 roster spot in a couple years.

McDuffie, a 6’0″ guard out of the South Kent School in Connecticut, makes his first appearance in the 2027 rankings on the Watch List. McDuffie is a great point of attack defender, staying low in his stance and using his lateral quickness to his advantage when staying in front of opposing guards. He’s quick to turn defense into offense, showing the ability to trigger the break with the pass or bounce. He’s tough with the ball in his hands, knows how to play through contact around the rim, and does a great job of quickly changing direction as a driver.
