Adidas 3SSB Session 2: Shooters

It featured some of the nation's most talented players and most recruitable prospects, but one thing every College Team needs is shooting. These six prospects all have very bright futures at the next level and demonstrated their shooting ability as scorers, spot-up shooters, or 3 &amp; D wings. Across 5 games in Session 2, Batemon averaged 23.4 points per game and over 4.5 made threes per game on 44% shooting from behind the arc, including a game with 9 made threes. The 9 made three game was against Team Loaded VA and his shooting was the only thing keeping Power 5 in the game. Jamarion moves extremely well off the ball and always has shot-ready hands. There were multiple types of action run for Batemon to get him open, but the most frequent was an elevator which was very effective throughout the game. He has always had good size and long arms but the development of him as a consistent perimeter threat will take him to a new level as a prospect. The size and arms are important as a shooter because he can shoot over some matchups. He also has a very consistent shooting form. He plays on a very talented Utah Prospects squad who are the defending 3SSB Champions and are 6-3 through two sessions, so he doesn't have the ball in his hands often but is expected to knock shots down when it is. John did have good volume in that matchup with ETG, showing his quick release, activity off the ball, and ability to shoot with his feet set or on the move. He is an efficient scorer by trade and is comfortable scoring off the catch or the dribble. Aaron also has a very pretty fade-away jump shot that he uses in the mid-range when matched up with bigger defenders. He is a lefty shooter who had two good performances in the final two games of Session 2, going for 15 Points on 3-5 3FG against Upward Stars and 20 Points on 3-6 3FG against Team Loaded NC. Lipkins is also very comfortable making plays off the dribble when run off the three-point line, particularly finishing with his beautiful floater. He is a true three-level scorer, but he was very good from three and mid-range in Alabama this weekend. In a matchup with Dream Vision, he started slowly missing his first 4 shots from the field. However, he is a dependable free throw shooter and used it to get in rhythm and went 6-12 for the rest of the game, finishing with 21 points and 4 made threes. Mikel has very deep range, has a high release, is very shifty with the ball in his hands, and doesn't force a shot just because he can.
