Caughman Jr. was the best shooter at Woodstock Academy’s open gym last week, and it wasn’t particularly close. The 6-foot-6 SG has a beautiful shot release and is able to make shots off of movement, which is quite impressive given his size and physical profile. Caughman Jr. also projects as someone who could put on some weight and continue to get stronger as a result, which would make him an even more well-rounded offensive player. The junior should be a high-volume shooter for Woodstock this season.
he South Carolina transplant has a chance to become one of the best defenders in New England’s 2028 class and beyond. Choosing Woodstock Academy should only help him refine that part of his game. Caughman is a big guard who can handle the ball and initiate offense, but it is his willingness to defend and consistently do the little things that separates him. That approach, combined with his scoring ability, should help Hellstar Elite contend in the new-look Overtime Elite League.
Antoine Caughman Jr. leads off my list of Southeast Top Performers from 3SSB Palmetto Road. Caughman Jr. had a few strong showings in Rock Hill last week, averaging 12.8 points per game across 5 games. Although he didn’t have his best stretch of shooting, Antoine was able to show his defensive upside all week long. He totaled 6 blocks and 5 steals, using his phenomenal positional length and athleticism to make defensive plays game-in, game-out.
A sophomore Shooting Guard from the Midlands who made a SCBCA All-State team is Antoine. After a breakout freshman season, he followed it up with a stellar second year, where he saw much more volume and playmaking responsibilities. Among the other awards he added to the mantle this season are Region 4-3A Player of the Year and 1,000 Career Points.

, the top prospect in South Carolina’s 2028 Class, was on display at the FCA I-85 Battleground Showcase. And in the second half of Keenan’s win over Milton (GA), Antoine lived up to the hype and proved just why he will be a highly coveted player in the future. Over the last 16:00, he tallied 19 points and 3 steals on 4-7 3FG to help carry the Raiders to victory. All of Caughman’s threes were crucial to the flow of the game, but it never felt like he was going to shy away from the moment, and even looked composed on plays like a SLOB for a left-corner three, a pump-fake pull-up three, and a steal turned into a transition and-one, which sealed the win.
