Sheffield delivered the most dominant performance I’ve witnessed in person all season, exploding for a career high 42 points in a takeover moment that left no doubt who controlled the game. He was electric from everywhere on the floor, knocking down six shots from deep while attacking the rim with tight handles and acrobatic finishes through contact. Every time his team needed a bucket, he answered. More than just a scorer, he’s a true leader with poise and confidence and his teammates trust him completely. Add in his relentless defensive effort, and it was a complete, superstar performance from start to finish

Brody has been one of the top scorers in the entire class for the last few seasons, and this year he’s even upped that. He’s averaging 24.7 points a game as a 3-level scorer. He seeks out mismatches, he is an excellent iso scorer, and also when the double comes, he makes them pay with making the right play as well. He’s an above-average rebounder (8.2 rpg) who grabs the board and goes, he attacks the paint, often getting fouled or finished over smaller defenders, and is a two-way standout as well. We just saw him have his best game of the year, and it’s against state champs, Simple, where he finished with 35 points and 8 rebounds, to go along with it. He makes a leap in the rankings with his play and remains a small school standout who deserves recognition. Big year for him.

Sheffield continues to elevate his stock and refine his scoring package every time he steps on the floor. Already becoming Yuma’s all time leading scorer this season and averaging 25.8, he’s shown how reliable and consistent he is as an offensive weapon. Sheffield is strong going to the hole, finishes through contact and plays with clean, controlled handles that allow him to get to his spots. His confidence, toughness and ability to score in a variety of ways have made him the focal point of opposing defenses and a proven go to option for that can’t be stopped

Brody is one of the class’s most gifted scorers as he put up double figures in every single game with a couple of 30-point outings as well. As a junior, he scored 22 points a game and had 5.2 rebounds to go along with it as well. He led his team to wins and was the top guy in almost every category. We wish we saw more of him this summer, but when we did, he stood out as a facilitator and floor spacer who can light it up from deep. He’s a confident scorer who looks to create and heads into the season as one of the most productive players in the state, and we expect he has another monster season. He makes a rise in the rankings.

Sheffield is a knockdown shooter with serious deep range from beyond the arc. It doesn’t matter if there’s a defender in his face he will still knock it down. Sheffield also does a great job setting up his teammates for easy buckets, always keeping his head up and finding the open man. Defensively he knows how to position himself to avoid getting beat off the drive and always keeps his hands active to disrupt passes or shots. Sheffield shines and becomes a real threat in transition. His stop-and-pop three-pointer is deadly, and he’s got that ability to quickly pull up for a shot as soon as he gets the ball on the move

Leading one of the better run programs in the state in Yuma, Sheffield is a backcourt name to follow. Leading the top 3A program to the state title, Sheffield deserves praise for his routine success at such an early stage. Following the title and superb averages of 18.6 points and 3.3 assists per game, the guard has been excellent throughout the club season. Especially skilled handling the ball versus pressure, he is rarely sped up by an opposing defense. Sheffield is arguably the most complete perimeter name out in this area, comfortable from all three levels. Equally dangerous out the pick and roll, he does a great job leveraging the screener for openings across the floor.
