Grayson has been on our radar since the spring as it was one of the better glimpses we’ve had of what his role could eventually become. He’s one of the taller players on the floor, yet he’s also comfortable initiating offense, handling the ball in space and making decisions with the ball. What I liked most was that he is interchangeable. He plays guard at times and passes and keeps the offensive flowing, he also can play off ball and shoot it when it comes to him or make the right play. He doesnt force bad shots. Grayson knows when to score and is a player I feel you can put in at different spots and get the best from him. We certainly want to see more of him but liked what we saw from him when we did to make the jump.
Grayson is a player who we have talked about all Spring, so it was great to get a glimpse of what he will look like for the season. This was a solid outing for him as he was impacting the game in every way. He’s doing a bit of everything while being the focal point of the offense. He’s handling the ball despite being one of the taller players, he’s scoring with ease, and understands when to score and when to dish it off to an open man. This was the most that we’ve seen him with the ball in his hand,s and he made the most out of it. Grayson might be a bit better than I thought, and this was a stock-boosting event for him.
Schwirtz had a strong weekend showing, continuing to grow into a true two way presence. His size and length were hard to miss, impacting plays on both ends of the floor. What stood out most was how comfortable he looked stepping out and knocking down shots from deep, adding real value on the perimeter. Inside he showed clear progress, using improved footwork and positioning to be effective around the rim. Defensively he used his length well to contest and disrupt. It was a well rounded performance that showed just how much his game is evolving and why he’s a name to keep watching
Silver Creek has a pretty strong group of upperclassmen, which has them undefeated on the season. They’re disciplined, they play the right way, and they compete on both ends. They also have a bright spot in sophomore wing, Grayson. He’s putting up 6.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2 assists a game. Grayson is physical and a force down low. He attacks the paint, has a mid-range game, and takes what the defense is giving him. He’s a solid rebounder who attacks the glass and gets a few easy scoring opportunities off of that. He is also a willing passer who hits the open man when the opportunity is there. He was a player not really on our radar, but with how he’s contributed on a stacked squad with aspirations of winning it all, he’s a player who we’re keeping eyes on and putting in the rankings.
