Chicago was the destination for the Grinds Session Finale hosted by Malcolm X College and the Chi-Prep Staff. On Sunday I was privileged to watch a high-level game featuring multiple top-100 prospects from three classes. Prolific Prep went on to defeat Dream City Christian with a score of 84-74. In a game of many top prospects I picked the 5 most impactful players from the championship game.

Prolific Prep

[player_tooltip player_id='2321479' first='AJ' last='Dybantsa'] 2025 6'8

After having a slow start AJ had a stretch in the second quarter to establish why many would consider him the #1 player in the nation for 2025. He overpowered players in the post for three straight possessions. The forward is so good at playing with his back to the basket it could overshadow his ability to make shots at times. Dybantsa has a fluid stroke for his body type. He is an underrated glass eater as he pulled in 8 boards most on the defensive side. Down the stretch he lifted his team to a win after being down for the majority of the game. He finished with 24 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='1702934' first='Tyran' last='Stokes'] 2026 6'8

There is no doubt Stokes was the heart and soul of Prolific Prep's comeback in the Championship. Stokes led the charge with momentum-changing dunks. He is a bigger-bodied wing that has good timing and body control. Stokes several times got in the lane and made difficult passes to shooters in the corner. As a three-level scoring threat, Tyran did it all. He finished with 18 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists. He was named MVP of the game. A great finish for the possible #1 2026 player in the nation.

[player_tooltip player_id='1488143' first='Mikey' last='Lewis'] 2024 6'3 (St. Mary's)

Lewis was another instrumental piece to Prolific Prep come from behind victory. At the PG spot Lewis is a dead-eye shooter and nailed several shots from three. His role as a facilitator was key hitting players on fastbreaks for layups and dunks fueled the team's run. Mikey controlled the pace despite playing from behind for three quarters. As top 100 player he has all the qualities to be effective at St. Mary's next season.

Dream City Christian

Emmanuel Stephen 2024 7'0 (Arizona)

I was impressed with Stephen for the first 3 minutes of the game. He's blessed with NBA length and athleticism. Emmanuel had two quick dunks for DCC which paced them to an early lead. Stephen is a defensive goldmine for the Wildcats as he has a college-ready body and is a defender who can block and change any shot within arm's length. He ran the floor very well and gobbled up most shots off the glass before running into foul trouble. As he works on his offensive game look for him to be an exceptional defender for Arizona early on.

Ikenna Alozie 2026 6'3

Maybe the player who caught my attention the most. Alozie is a sophomore who plays well above the rim and has one of the quickest first step and second gear I've seen in some time. He was terrific from start to finish. His upper body strength to go through defenders was elite. He had several on-ball steals that led to acrobatic dunks and layups. What didn't go unnoticed is that he played hard even with Dybantsa playing defense on him for the majority of the game. Alozie didn't hoist up a ton of shots but stuck to his strengths and got to the rim repeatedly. He finished with 29 points and snagged in 8 rebounds while dishing off 6 assists. I see many high majors after this prospect soon.
