Beloit Memorial-Westosha Central Prospect Standouts

He's paid his dues for this strong Westosha Central program and is now getting more of a chance to sign. A real x-factor for the Falcons, Burns scored in double figures on Friday and made a variety of plays. A guard that plays with excellent pace and quickness on the floor. He's also a reliable 3-point shooter who can really stretch the defense and made Beloit play for not extending their zone. At 5-foot-10, Burns is scrappy and competes as well. He'll throw his body in harm's way and look to take charges. The junior racked up 30 points and six assists in what was a show and excellent point guard display. Griffin is so difficult to defend, because he keeps you guessing. Arguably no point guard in the state utilizes change of pace/direction better than Griffin. He's so good at manipulating defenders and getting them where he wants them to go. You can rest for a second as Griffin is a thread-the-needle passer who can also pop off a jumper whenever he wants, including some extended range from beyond the arc. Griffin is just a wizard when he gets in the paint, including a unique finishing package and the ability to deliver no-look assists. Griffin can scoop under bigs to get his layups, go off the 'wrong' foot, or just speed up his release before the shot blocker can arrive. His value to Beloit was evident. When Westosha Central made adjustments to take him out of the game in the second half, the Purple Knights couldn't keep pace. Hereford kept his team within striking distance early, scoring all 14 of his points and dishing out two assists in the first half. After halftime, Hereford saw multiple bodies any time he wanted to attack offensively. A silky smooth lefty, Hereford knocked down three 3-pointers against Westosha's zone and also showed the ability to mix things up in the mid-range. long, athletic guard who can break down defenses and is also a two-way player, Hereford had some intriguing blocks at the rim and played the passing lanes really well. In the next rankings, definitely see him as a top 15 prospect in his class. Can be difficult to tell on the Under Armour Circuit, but seeing him in high school for the first time, it appears the 6-foot-9 center is trending in the right direction. Lubkeman started the game out really well, scoring in the post, hitting a mid-range jumper, and recording a block that wiped away what looked like an easy two points for Beloit. Thought Lubkeman looked more aggressive around the rim and with his rebounding. He had stretches where he really controlled the glass and protected the rim at a high level. A big, strong post with some mobility, Lubkeman is getting better with playing with his back to the basket and understanding post position.
