Steady improvement for a big man is not unusual as they tend to blossom a bit later than guards. Part of the reason for that is many haven’t grown into their bodies during their early years of high school. Lubkeman fits into that mold as he has shown incremental advancement in his game during his three years of high school basketball at Westosha Central. He has increased his scoring, rebounding and blocked shot totals each season, and is coming off a junior campaign where he averaged 13.0 points and 7.2 rebounds. Lubkeman possesses a soft shooting touch and recently gave a commitment to Division 2 Parkside.

Liam made the jump to consistent varsity minutes last season, and this year could be the year he breaks out as a force at the high school level. At 6’8 he’s going to have a size advantage against most teams, and when you combine solid footwork with soft touch around the rim, he’s tough to stop when he catches on the block. He showed some flashes playing on a Wisconsin PGC team with two high major bigs, and he’ll look to translate that experience over to the high school season. As a sophomore Liam put up 7.3 points, 5. 7 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game before missing about a month with an injury towards the end of the season.
