Edwards brought a calm, steadying presence to Team 13 while demonstrating remarkable off-ball and on-ball versatility. An unselfish, proactive passer who excels at advancing the ball in transition, he also showed off great spatial awareness as a spot-up perimeter threat. Edwards repeatedly sparked momentum with his high-energy play—chasing down loose balls and digging down in the post to disrupt paint touches. Westosha Central has a relentless, heart-and-soul guard who will leave everything on the floor this winter.
Edwards showed poise with the ball, refusing to let defensive pressure rush his decisions. He stayed composed, stepped confidently into his shot, and knocked down a key three in Game 1. He remained one of the top performers the rest of the way.
I caught Edwards game in DFTP’s later evening Friday contest. The undersized combo guard makes up for height with his quick twitch handle and feel with the rock in his hands. He has an adequate first step burst that he utilizes going off the bounce for creation opportunities. Edwards will hit angles and gaps quickly to draw help and make the necessary passing read or finish himself before extra defenders come. His ability with speed in the break phase puts consistent pressure on defenses to back peddle immediately and make adjustments on the go. Overall he will bring a combination of pace and athleticism to the floor and help a team make winning plays. The combo guard from Westosha is one to definitely keep tabs on heading into junior year.
Edwards isn’t the most physically gifted guard. But he did everything right Sunday morning for DTFP. Hit a variety of 3-pointers throughout their matchup vs full package and never seemed to lose confidence. Effective from the mid-range, too. No zone on the floor is a bad shooting spot for him. He also was productive on the boards and a consistent playmaker to make it an exciting contest. Clutch free throws late in the game took them over the top.
A feisty combination guard with endless energy, Edwards competes with the best of them and his tireless work paid positive dividends for Dftp Elite in its close loss to Team Compete
. Edwards was a key part of some pressure defense in the second half that helped his team turn a double-digit deficit into a one possession game. He scored 17 points and made three shots from deep while playing solid defense and sharing the ball with his teammates.
