We are about two weeks from the watch list but we also have to recap what we have seen from our leaders!

The Leaders

[player_tooltip player_id='1172835' first='Casmir' last='Chavis'] of Park Center. Chavis likely took one small step ahead of the pack with yet another incredible late game performance against a top team. Chavis had 24 points on 9 of 13 shooting with seven assists in a top five win over Minnetonka, but even more impressive was how he took the game over on four straight late possessions. He also led his team over [player_tooltip player_id='1288733' first='Isaac' last='Asuma'] in a win over Cherry (no numbers posted) and scored 23 last night beating Moorhead.

[player_tooltip player_id='1287438' first='Jackson' last='McAndrew'] of Wayzata. As unfair as it is to say, McAndrew is likely a small step behind Chavis because his team is so good. While Chavis was leading his team to a final minute win over Tonka, McAndrew had been sitting and relaxing for several minutes after his team put away Eastview by 28. Jackson had a very impressive 28 while holding Mekonnen to 18 which is a performance that will hold up to the end. He also had 18 in a win over Rosemount. Jackson and the [program_tooltip program_id='2075965' first='Trojans' last=''] take on Robison and Lakeville North tomorrow in a game that will draw many eyes.

Final Five

[player_tooltip player_id='1288733' first='Isaac' last='Asuma'] of Cherry. Asuma was in the Twin Cities last weekend defending 6'6 D2 signed [player_tooltip player_id='1284201' first='Owen' last='Waldoch'] and 6'9 D1 offered [player_tooltip player_id='1284106' first='Chiang' last='Ring']. And he did a fantastic job defending both in the post. And let's not forget he's also locked down [player_tooltip player_id='1287442' first='Kole' last='Hanson'], a point guard, in a game this year. So he will play whatever role he is asked to. And put up 12 points, 14 rebounds and eight assists against Park Center, and 15 points, six rebounds, eight blocks and four steals against Forest Lake. Unfortunately Cherry, the Class A school, lost to the big schools but you had to expect that when you look at the physical match-ups.

[player_tooltip player_id='1284147' first='Jack' last='Robison'] of Lakeville North. With [player_tooltip player_id='1269166' first='Matt' last='Drake'] out last night Robison handled more of the roles and put up 32 points. The Panthers lost but Robison's effort was well talked about. He also had 25 over the break against New Prague. Big match-up with Wayzata tomorrow.

[player_tooltip player_id='1151197' first='Daniel' last='Freitag'] of Breck. Daniel had 14 in a blowout win over Osseo, 17 in a tight game with Hopkins, 20 in a win over Minneapolis Southwest, and then 14 in a crushing win over Blake coming off the bench. He's scoring 17 a game this season for the number one team in Class AA who is undefeated.

Next Up

[player_tooltip player_id='1284138' first='Grayson' last='Grove'] of Alexandria. Grayson had a really nice first half in a blowout win of Stewartville throwing down several hammer dunks and scoring 14 points going into the half. He then hurt his ankle, missed the rest of the Stewartville game and had to sit out the game against Mankato East.

[player_tooltip player_id='1284143' first='Isaiah' last='Johnson'] of Totino-Grace. Led TG over a really good Wauwatosa West team by double digits but had a rough game against Cordova who is a fantastic team out of Tennessee with D1 guards (local reporter listed single digits but I have nothing I trust on it)

[player_tooltip player_id='1284083' first='Andy' last='Stefonowicz'] of Minnetonka. Andy led Tonka over BSM with a 23 point, 8 assist performance at CSP and the night before head to head against Chavis he had 14 points, seven boards and eight assists in a rough shooting game of 3 of 13.

[player_tooltip player_id='1287441' first='Brandon' last='Hrncir'] of Farmington. Brandon is about to shove his way into the conversation. He was the best player at the Capitol City Classic at Hamline the break and then he scored 25 in leading Farmington past Lakeville North last night in a massive win for the Tigers.

[player_tooltip player_id='1284167' first='Kyle' last='Jorgensen'] of Minneapolis Washburn. The Millers have not played since Kyle led them with 29 in a win over Armstrong on December 20th.

Tamerfon Ferguson of St. Cloud Tech. Scored 40 points in a 14 point win over Cooper and had 31 in a win over Fargo North. Averaging 34 points a game.

Watch List Certainties
