Standouts
Asher is probably closer to 6’5 but the thing that stands out the most is his athleticism and his strength. He had a big task in defending one of the best shooters in the state and he stepped up to the challenge. Asher had 14 points and most of the them in the paint or close to the rim but that defense he displayed was great. Playing against elite players you can only hope to contain and that is exactly what he did. IMPRESSIVE!
John has been putting people on notice with his play. He has never been a player to talk or complain and that is a big plus as he is talking with his game. He is a player who’s recruiting should be taking off as a lead guard.
Cooper Lewis Cooper Lewis 6’1″ | PG Lehi | 2024 State UT is a competitor as the stat line shows him dropping 29 points and he ws stat stuffing. Maybe taking the year off of club ball was good for him. Look for his recruiting to pick up as he is a high level PG.
Highlights
Surprise
Maybe about 1 minute into the game it was like, “who is that”, Smylie had himself a game and the best part of his game was that he was in the right place at the right time. He crashed the boards and got some easy rebounds and putbacks. He was spacing the floor well and getting good looks at the rim. He will have a big role moving forward. Solid game, looking forward to what else he can do this year.
Highlights
Mawhinney is a player that is making a name for himself. He is a high motor machine and he is a player that is out there getting rebounds and making life easy for himself.
The name might not be a big surprise but his play was less than stellar early and to our surprise he picked things upin the 2nd half. jax was playing solid defense and he was effective in the post and around the rim as his length was something that stood out right off the bat.
Statements
LAYTON LANCERS
