That versatility that he has could come in handy as many lineups change he could stay in the game and make work of whoever he has to defend.

Brighton plays a tough scrappy type of brand of basketball and you can see that Josh brings that toughness attitude to the floor. Mawhinney makes good easy moves to the basket. He can tap into a pull-up game at 15-feet and he can also power the ball through to the rm and finish in traffic. He shoots the ball well so he has that dual threat of inside and outside going for him. He is a much improved player that will make Brighton tough.

10 PPG, 8 RPG and 2 APG is a really impressive stat line. A player that seems to let the game come to him but also attacks the game in a different sense as well. Great size and mobility as he is a high motor all over teh place type of player for sure. Mawhinney is a player that will get you extra possessions and help himself inside. He doesn;t shoot a lot but when you’re racking up double-doubles and dishing the ball at a high level. you do not need to shoot a lot.

Big surprise for us this year as he has exploded on the scene this year for Brighton and he has really helped his team have a 3rd option which helps open things up for his shooters and for his PG that can get to the rim at will. Mawhinney can mix things up and play some inside/outside ball. Could be another D2 type of prospect.
