will be the best junior basketball player in the state of Minnesota. If I had to describe it in a simple phrase, I would just say he is tougher and more consistent than others. He rebounds, he is always active off the ball, he makes smart plays, and Jalen has a solid core and plays harder than most at his spot. I think he’s going to have a huge junior season.
Two.
Kayden Wells

with the Clutch Return. Kayden going back to Tonka could be the element that has the Skippers playing above expectations. He does things that Tonka has not had when it comes to rebounding, starting the break with an outlet, low post defense, and stuff in that realm. This will free up

in this video you see dribble separation moves into an attack or lift that most good athletes don’t have the ability to do. His lift, agility and quickness are very unique and at times Donley is unguardable. If/When he gets all of that to click with making the right decision each play and helping his team get over the hump of getting to state (it’s been 14 years), the sky is the limit.
Four. Greyson Buckets. At 6’1/6’2 senior

is known for his work ethic on the court defending the other team’s best guard and competing hard. With Wells, Cain,

around few will point to Greyson’s offense but it was Greyson that scored six times in the first half when Tonka was leading. He had a jumper, foul shot makes, a couple attacks and transition scores. When Greyson stopped scoring in this clip, it looked like Tonka stopped scoring. That’s not to say Tonka can’t win unless he is getting 6-7 looks a half, but I am saying it looks like he will give the Skippers another option.
Five. BSM Win. What does a win here by BSM mean? In a fall league game? It basically means you would rather win than lose so there is that. BSM was without Daisy and Keita, Tonka did not look to have Richardson but they had the rest. Playing time in these events can fluctuate between playing only your best to shifting a varsity five in, and then replacing them with a JV five. Hard to tell from an eight minute clip. But if BSM beats a nearly full Tonka team while missing two starters, that is a good thing for them. .
