Armani once again proved his worth at a relentless offensive weapon who consistently attacked and applied pressure on the defense. Played with energy and confidence in every game leading to Blake’s State Championship. Armani got downhill aggressively and constantly drew fouls, never allowing the defense to settle. He also impacted the game defensively forcing a lot of turnovers. In clutch moments he was able to deliver each time his opportunity came.

Fowlkes is one that has made some noise recently with Blake’s run to the Class 4A state title game this Saturday. It isn’t as if Fowlkes hasn’t been producing throughout the season, but when the lights have been brightest, he seems to be the one that answers the call. He exploded for a loaded stat line of 30 points, eight rebounds, six assists and four steals in the Bengals’ regional title game against a good Kennedy squad and followed up with key plays in their state semifinal win over Meade. A small, twitchy guard who can play on or off the ball, Fowlkes has ability to fill it up from outside or finish through contact on rim attacks. He’s a prideful individual defender and never hesitates to get into the mix for 50/50s. He made a nearly 20-spot jump from No. 64 to the top-50 to sit at No. 47 overall.

Blake made a statement in their regional championship win over Kennedy and advances to the quarterfinal set to host Eleanor Roosevelt this evening. Fowlkes exploded for a 30-points outburst in the game on Wednesday and also grabbed eight rebounds, dished out six assists and recorded four steals as the Bengals played one of the most complete games all season. A small, shifty guard who uses his low center of gravity and burst to blow by defenders, Fowlkes keeps his matchup guessing at what he’ll do with the ball in his hands given the range he can extend beyond the HS arc. A crafty finisher at the bucket, Fowlkes isn’t a tunnel vision driver and as defenses adjust to stop his scoring opportunities with double teams or digs on penetration, he quickly locates open teammates on the weakside or along the baseline for clean looks.

-The heartbeat of this Blake team performed well in a hard-fought win for the Bengals, showing his full offensive arsenal throughout the game. Fowlkes served as a menace POA defender throughout the game thanks to a lightning-quick set of hands, coming away with 5 steals and dove to throw a loose ball off an opponent’s leg to force the turnover on a few different occasions. Fowlkes knocked down C+S jumpers behind the arc, got to his elbow pull-up frequently, drew several fouls going to the rim, and showed a better understanding of when to push the pace in transition to create advantage opportunities for his team and when he needed to bring the ball out to set up the offense. He then used that scoring gravity to hit teammates with crosscourt skip passes and wrap-around drop-offs around the rim.

Armani controlled the game with his smooth scoring package and ability to handle the basketball. He attacked the rim hard for finishes and mixed in a multitude of clean moves to get into his midrange arsenal. In transition he used a subtle crossover to get downhill and score, then continued to deliver bucket after bucket during Blake’s best stretches. Armani’s handle and pace stood out because he consistently created angles to the lane without rushing drives. He also drew fouls by breaking defenders down in isolation and attacking the rim. Fowlkes flashed vision as well and showed he can make passes when help defenders commit. Defensively, he took on strong assignments and defended well on-ball against the opposing team’s leading scorer. He stayed aggressive late and helped put the game away at the free throw line. Scored effectively at every level and looked like the engine of Blake’s offense.

Armani impressed me because of his activity on both ends of the floor. A scary sight in the backcourt this summer in the trap-press for a lot of opposing guards. Armani plays the passing lane well and scores a lot of points due to his defensive prowess. Armani has very good timing and reads the floor well from the defensive side of the ball.

21p 5a 3r 2b 4s vs DeMatha

-Arguably one of the quickest guards in the area, Fowlkes put on a standout performance against a tough DeMatha backcourt. Fowlkes change of speed/direction with the ball in his hands allow him to fit through some tight gaps in the defense or turn the corner/spin to space to get downhill in a hurry. Loved that he didn’t settle for jumpers in a close game and instead put a ton of pressure on the backline of the defense by attacking the rim. His finishing package with either hand around the basket really stood out as he finished around the trees in blue uniforms throughout the evening. Really gutted it out down the stretch for his team and almost brought them all the way back, with a teammate dropping a beautiful pocket pass that would’ve put the Bengals ahead for good

22p 6r 3a 3s 2b vs Wise

-Really dynamic performance from Fowlkes in a big win over Wise. Fowlkes got two feet in the paint and kicked to shooters, ripped a pass through to avoid a turnover and sidestep his way into a 3, had a great sprint from the corner to block a shot under the rim, moved well off the pass to receive backdoor passes for layups, and hit all sorts of perimeter jumpers. His penetration into the key really opened things up in the game and he showed that he can score pretty efficiently from all three levels while rebounding extremely well for his size. Completely thought that he mistimed a jump for a block and was impressed by how he levitated in midair before swiping a block as soon as the shooter presented the ball near the rim.

Armani Fowlkes Armani Fowlkes Armani Fowlkes 5'9" | PG Blake | 2026 State MD is a talented guard who can get you a bucket. Armani is a great three-point shooter and creates his own offense. Armani is a good passer and a committed perimeter defender. Armani moves without the ball well, and he can play with or without the ball. He plays both guard positions, but at his size, he’s probably better suited as a one. Armani finished with 19 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists.

Armani has looked the part as a solid 2-way combo guard with Olney Elite this summer. His shot-creating ability seems to have improved since the regular season with Blake. Fowlkes got to his spots with ease. His team could count on him to score from behind the line, off the dribble-drive or pullup, or by cutting to the basket. Armani took pride on the defensive end and caused havoc for the opposing offense. He never looked like he was forcing a shot up out there and took makeable opportunities.
