Ohio Top 250 Expo Preview: Early Sign-Ups
We’re excited about September 9th! It’s going down all day long at Pickerington North High School.
From 9:30-2pm, the classes of 2020 and 2021 will take their talents to the floor to compete. With all of the hard work they’ve been putting in behind the scenes, here comes a golden opportunity to jump on scouting radars.
Because we cannot contain our excitement much longer, we’ve decided to share it with you and roll out a preview of the players who have already signed up for the Ohio Top 250 Expo. There’s still plenty of time to sign-up, but here are a few of the early entrants that we’re excited to evaluate come the second Saturday of September.
Yousef Saleh (2020), 5’11” PG, Beavercreek
Saleh is still making the rounds after coming back from a knee injury recently. His ability to barrel into the lane as a slashing point guard could shine during the Top 250 Expo.
Joey Holifield (2020), 6’0” PG, Cardinal Stritch
Holifield, who is ranked as Ohio’s #14 prospect in the 2020 class, is the top prospect competing in this age group. As of now, Holifield holds two MAC offers, with plenty more to come if he continues developing. He’s a strong kid who takes advantage of his body by being a relentless driver. Holifield also possesses a high-IQ, which will be fun to play with for his teammates.
Trevell Adams (2020), 5’9” PG, Columbus South
Adams is going to be tough to stay in front of during any one-on-one drills and gameplay. He impressed us mightily with his athleticism and right-handed finishes in the last weekend of July; now, we’re hoping to see him build on that performance with ISG-Hidden Gems with a couple more finishing moves.
Brad Colbert (2020), 6’0” G, Archbishop Moeller
Colbert should keep defenses honest with his catch-and-shoot ability from beyond the arch. He’s a shooting specialist that we’re hoping to see impact the game defensively.
Khalil Davis (2020), 6’0” PG, Cincinnati Princeton
Davis is a player we wished we’d seen more of during the grassroots season. In a loaded 2020 class from Cincinnati Princeton, Davis saw more varsity minutes than any other classmate as a freshman.
Isaiah Kennedy (2020), 6’0” PG, Dayton Wayne
Kennedy can push the break with his elite athleticism or the pass. He’s simply a playmaker, even in the half-court. His frame is much more mature than most fellow 2020s, and would likely cause mismatches even with the older group.
Conner Maciag (2020), 6’2” G, Pickerington Central
We expect Maciag to bring the edge with the 2020 and 2021 groups. He’s a competitive kid that slides his feet on defense and acts as an irritant in the full-court pressure. Because he was more of a role player with All Ohio Red in the summer, we hope to see him flourish in a lead role in this setting.
Dalton Mischal (2020), 6’3” G/W, McClain
As of now, the 2020 and 2021 sign-ups are guard heavy. While Mischal is also a perimeter player, he could dominate smaller opponents because of his aggressiveness.
Jackson Sizemore (2020), 6’7” F, Perrysburg
Currently, Sizemore is the top post prospect from 2020 that is signed up. We’re not sure who is going to be able to handle this kid in the post. While Sizemore can hurt defenses with his shooting and straight-line drives, he would probably shine most if he just eats in the paint all day long.
