Christ School Open Gym Notes Part I
Brandon Stone 6’10, 2019 PF-Stone showed the abilityto be used some as a point-forward with his ability to handle the ball and his ability to run the floor. He gets a lot of rebounds with his size and footwork. He gets good position on the low blocks, able to finish with either hand off of either foot. He is getting stronger and will build muscle on his upper-body. He is an above-average passer for his size and gets a lot of deflections on in-bounds plays and gets his long arms in on passing lanes.
Brandon StoneJalen Lecque 6’3 2019 SG-Lecque is a nationally ranked 2019 prospect. He has the ability to dunk anything that is thrown near the rim. He is gifted athletically and had two run-down blocks that he pinned on the backboard near the top of the square. He is a above-average passer and has tremendous court-vision in his first workout with
Christ School today. He sees passes a play or two ahead of anyone else. He is shifty with the ball in his hands and can play without the ball. He knocked down a few contested mid-range jumpers today. He is able to create so much space with his quickness and height by jumping so high on his jump-shots. He is improving defensively and getting better at reading ball screens and getting to spots.
Norance Berry 6’3 2020 SG-Berry was very impressive today at Christ School open gym. He is a defensive stopper and will out hustle any player on the floor. He is able to read ball screens and can knock down the open jumper out past the three-point line. He has a tight handle and can score off the dribble. He is strong and has an athletic build.
Justice Ajogbor 6’10, 2020 F/C-Ajogbor is now up to 235lbs and has a 7-foot-2 wingspan. He impressed me today with his shotmaking ability from outside of the three-point line while making five in a row from deep. He showed a soft touch on the inside and scored with either hand over either shoulder. He has the size to push people around in the post at this level. He is a fierce competitor, goes after every rebound, and tries to dunk anything in the post. He is a 4.3 student in the classroom and is going to be one to track over the next 6 months.
Brad Halvorsen 5’10 2019 G-With the last name Halvorsen it is in your blood to be a shooter. The younger Halvorsen is what his older brothers could do, shoot. Middle brother Matt is a freshman at Western Carolina University and Brad has the same stroke. He can light it up when open or contested.
Ben Craig 6’0 2019 G-The Owen transfer is a legitimate Division Two/Big South/SoCon Conference at D1 level guard. He is skilled, tough, strong, and knows the game. He doesn’t make mistakes with the ball in his hands and is a defensive hound.
