WNC’s 2018 Class
Western North Carolina has some talented seniors that will be taking the floor for some of the better private school and public schools this winter. Here is a look at some of the top players in the western part of the state for the 2018 class.
Tai Giger – 6’1 PG (Carolina Day)-CAA All Conference, led team in scoring last year. A strong point guard, with great court vision who has been receiving Low D1 and D2 interest. Giger is sneaky athletic and has a college ready body. He can finish plays at the rim and uses his strength to get by smaller guards.
Isaiah PruettIsaiah Pruett-5’9 PG (AC Reynolds HS)-Pruett is a do-it-all type point guard, he is great in the open floor, he has great court vision, can knock down shots past the 3-point line. What stands out the most is his ability to create off the dribble and his shot-making. Standing 5-foot-9, Pruett plays more like the is 6-foot-3 with his athletic ability, basketball IQ and court sense. He has a natural feel for the game.
Max Spurling-6’3 W (Asheville Christian Academy)-Skilled, big-shouldered guard who makes the right pass/play every time the ball is in his hands. Has a high basketball IQ, does the little things to make sure his team has a chance to win.
Josh Cottrell-6’2 SG (Hayesville High School) Great release and mechanics, coach’s son, knows the game. Committed to Western Carolina.
Deacon Heath-6’4 SG (Avery County High School)-Big physical guard who can shoot it, has a high basketball IQ and understands the game.
Josh Searcy-6’4 W (East Rutherfordton High School)-Big strong guard that can attack the paint and score from the perimeter.
Adrien Delph-6’1 SG (Kings Mountain High School)-Very athletic and a high riser, can finish at the rim and in traffic.
