UNCP Elite Camp Standouts: C/O 2018
Lumberton HS Guard Stephon Lloyd: D2 programs should be all over Steph, he brings exactly what you would want from a PG. He defends at a high level, has outstanding lateral quickness, a solid frame and has a nice overall IQ. On the offensive end of the floor he knows how to get into the paint but doesn’t always look to score but instead looks to get the whole team involved.
Cape Fear HS 2018 Forward Myron Williams: It was always difficult at events like this for some players to show their strengths, especially ones that play in the half court setting. Myron is a player that excels in the half court and has versatile skills, he showed how strong he is in the post, as well and knocking down the elbow and short corner jumpers.
Cape Fear 2018HS Guard Kevin McLaughlin: Logged major minutes for Cape Fear HS last year at the PG spot, he understands how the position is supposed to be played and brought that same mentality to camp. He was unselfish and a very willing passer, he has nice speed and acceleration to go with a decent floater, which is huge for a guy his height (5’9).
2018 Guard Zavion Dawkins: Started the day off hot for the team he was playing on, has nice range on his shot, and he doesn’t get bothered by defenders. He has somewhat of a wide frame for a guard but he gets the job done regardless, he seems as though he loves to compete and is a very confident young man, a really nice looking prospect that already has D1 interest and offers.
Wilson HS 2018 (SC) Ron Cafffley: A solid overall big man prospect, he does a lot of the things that you want to see from a big. He’s comfortable with his back to the basket, doesn’t get rushed or knocked off the block and has decent post moves. He does a good job of keeping the ball high and although he isn’t the greatest athlete, he gets the job done inside but using his width.
