Dobyns made a big jump as he rose over 40 spots in the most recent update. Dobyns possesses a versatile two way game with consistent production and plenty of room to grow his game/body to another level. Potential and production are a dynamic duo, Dobyns possesses both at this stage. With his positional size, emerging skillset, and runway of improvement as he adds strength, there is a lot to be excited about with his development and trajectory over the next couple of years. As that development occurs with his strength, I think we’ll see Dobyns really continue to identify what kind of player he’s going to be with his game having the chance to go in so many different directions. This kid is too good right now and has too much upside to ignore to be ranked much lower than he currently is.

A long, fluid forward with perimeter skill. Dobyns spaces the floor, runs the floor in transition, and shows feel as a passer while finishing plays with athleticism.

Prep Hoops National Ranking: 144
Dobyns is on an upward trajectory with impressive ball skills and athleticism for a prospect his size. Dobyns can shoot over smaller defenders and score as a roll man. Still rounding out his game, Dobyns is far from a finished product. But when you consider the flashes he shows on the ball combined with the size and athleticism at his age and Dobyns is a prospect I’m happy to buy stock in to be greater later if he continues to work at it.

Dobyns has shown much more fluidity on the hardwood and should trend more as a DI prospect heading into 2025-26 with Wesleyan Christian Academy; he’s a perimeter presence who can knock down shots with efficiency but has also shown he can run the floor and finish around the rim when needed as well; has good mobility and touch around the painted area

Dobyns checks in at No. 6 at the small forward/wing spot out of Wesleyan Christian Academy. He’s a long, wiry prospect who’s coming along as a presence on the wing who can knock down shots on the perimeter with consistency. He shot 71 percent from 3-point range in Session I with Team United on the EYBL stage in Arizona this past weekend. He’s slowly becoming a DI prospect to target in the state.

Dobyns is a versatile offensive threat, excelling as a great shooter both off the dribble and off the catch. His ability to create his own shot, especially in the mid-range, sets him apart. With very good ball handling for his size, he navigates through defenses and breaks down defenders with ease. Defensively, he is a plus defender with the ability to guard multiple positions. Additionally, Dobyns is a strong defensive rebounder, often securing boards and starting fast breaks. As a passer, Dobyns shows good vision, making smart and accurate passes. His athleticsm allows him to finish strong at the rim and compete at a high level. Dobyns has one of the highest upsides in the class of 2027. He currently has offers from West Virginia and Old Dominion.

Dobyns moves into the 42nd spot in the latest rankings update for the 2027 class in North Carolina, ninth at the small forward spot. He’s a developing forward prospect who’s shown he can operate inside and out with his length at 6-foot-8. Old Dominion has offered him in the early going, look for that list to grow. His opportunities should be plentiful this season in the Wesleyan Christian Academy rotation.

has really good positional length and the attributes to go along with it. Reliable off of the catch from outside, plugs up the passing lanes with his wingspan, and secures rebounds off the rim. He moves well and shows the potential to be a three and D type prospect. Has a lot of the tools coaches want to see at the next level.
