Moorhead, MN - It was a great day of hoops at MSUM! They had teams from MN, ND, and SD in attendance. PHD stopped by Nemzek and the Wellness Center for the morning games and we saw plenty of impressive players. Who looked good? We have Top Performers to tell you about!

PHD did not get a chance to see every team play, so naturally there will be some good players left out. With that said, we have a great group of ballers in this article.

See below for info/comments on sixteen players from the Sweet 16

[player_tooltip player_id='1284153' first='Jay' last='Neubert'] (2024) |6'2 G| Sauk Centre

He led the Mainstreeters to the Championship game and he put up 24 of his team's 40 points. Jay knocked down six triples and they lost to the Otters by 1 point. The star guard from Sauk is a Sharp-Shooter. However, Neubert is at his best when he gives the ball up, gets it back, and attacks off the catch. He had a nice balance of making tough shots but also creating easy looks for his teammates. Jay initiates & generates offense without forcing or turning it over. He had 5 or fewer TO's in the four games. Now that is impressive when you consider the fact that he is the focal point for the opposing defense. Jay was likely the most skilled and one of the toughest players at the Sweet 16. After the Championship game, Neubert picked up an offer from MSUM!

[player_tooltip player_id='2375104' first='Andrew' last='Drevlow'] (2024) |6'3 G| Sauk Centre

He was a key cog in the Mainstreeters run to the Ship. Drevlow scored in double-digits 3 of the 4 games today. At the same time, he was guarding the opposing team's top players. Drevlow looked like a lockdown defender. Andrew is a long guard who can shoot the 3-ball effectively. He is at his best catching on the wing in transition and attacking to score. Drevlow is a great kid and a smart player.

[player_tooltip player_id='1484338' first='Brooks' last='Bakko'] (2027) |6'3 PG| Kindred

He got the Vikings on the board for the day with a mid-lane pull-up. Bakko is a master at getting his defender on his heels and he pulls up on a dime with perfect balance and excellent elevation. For his age, I don't think I have seen a better pull-up jumper. Brooks showed sharp handles and he broke down the defense with an effective crossover and between-the-legs move. He changes direction and blows by his defender like a veteran guard. The phenomenal frosh also looked good weaving through traffic and scoring at the rack.

[player_tooltip player_id='1169144' first='Karson' last='Ouse'] (2025) |6'7 SF| Kindred

He altered and contested shots early and often. Ouse is valuable on defense with his length and mobility. He can stay with a 6' guard on the wing and get the job done on the block against a 6'9" BIG. His craftiness and scoring knack were on display today. Karson was getting into the paint and scoring over defenders with little trouble. His spin-move, floater, and fall-away jumper looked impossible to stop. Ouse showed off his deep shooting range with an NBA 3-pointer before the halftime buzzer. Karson is a unique talent with his skill and length. College coaches must be licking their chops.

[player_tooltip player_id='2101349' first='Jack' last='Davis'] (2024) |6'4 SF| Kindred

I really liked the looks of his game. Jack is a 3-level scorer. Davis first stuck out with a cross-face cut that he finished with a soft floater over a rim-protector. He looks to be a quality athlete, I liked his elevation when shooting/attacking the hoop, and he moved very well up & down the floor. He can also get the job done on the block. His defender was fronting, Jack sealed, caught the lob pass, and scored in the face of the help defender. He also drained a catch-n-shoot triple. Jack showed good hands and feet when rolling, catching, and scoring in traffic. I was impressed with Mr. Davis today!

[player_tooltip player_id='1653800' first='Yohana' last='Ajwanga'] (2024) |6'5 PF| Milbank

This Bulldog is long, athletic, and he has an expansive wingspan. Yohana crashed the boards hard and this led to O-board scores. He gave extra effort by tipping rebounds to himself. Ajwanga is an aggressive cutter and he got to the FT-line often. I loved when he backed down his defender from the wing, dropped-stepped to the baseline, got his defender on his hip, and scored with his left hand. Ajwanga will be a quality post player in A ball this season in SD.

[player_tooltip player_id='1653802' first='Jaxson' last='Wildung'] (2024) |6'2 G| Milbank

He is a strong and aggressive athlete. Wildung was in "attack mode" when I was watching. He was tough going downhill off the bounce. On multiple occasions he split a double team or simply scored through the D. He is a physical finisher and a full-contact player. I love how Jaxon plays off two feet when in the paint. He played bully-ball at times and he scored with a soft touch after contact. Wildung curled a cut and scored with a 5-foot short jumper and he spread the floor with triples. Jaxon had a nice showing at MSUM.

[player_tooltip player_id='1266227' first='Garrett' last='Mertens'] (2024) |6'3 G| Milbank

He showed a quick shooting release when cashing in a triple on a BLOB. Mertens looked good when slashing, jump-stopping in the paint, pivoting, and scoring over the D. He also found shooters when penetrating to the hoop. Garrett showed admirable effort when grabbing O-boards for extra possessions.

[player_tooltip player_id='1145107' first='Landon' last='Moser'] (2024) |6'1 G| Northern Cass

In the first game that I watched, Moser easily scored in the 30's. He produced in transition with hustle & effort and he scored from all angles inside the arc. He had little trouble breaking down the D off the bounce. Landon drilled numerous triples with his perfect pull-J and off-the-catch. His range is extended, Landon nailed many from beyond college range. The Jags run some great action/sets and Moser always seemed to be executing. His footwork when catching and shooting was exemplary and it led to many makes. Moser handles the ball well, swung the rock, found shooters, and he set up his teammates. Landon was easily one of the top players at the Sweet 16!

[player_tooltip player_id='1547252' first='Keelan' last='Monson'] (2025) |6'4 F| Northern Cass

He was very good on the glass. Monson gobbled up rebounds on both ends of the floor. He was crafty and productive around the hoop. He ran the floor hard and was rewarded with points in transition. Keelan set good screens and he executed well. The Jags looked very good today and Monson was a big part of that.

[player_tooltip player_id='1547230' first='Hudson' last='Reitschel'] (2027) |5'11 G| Northern Cass

He has a great-looking outside shot. Reitschel is young and his jumper is pure. I thought he showed good feet ad mechanics from beyond the arc. Hudsen is a silky-smooth finisher with a beautiful jumper to match. His passing has improved this offseason. Reitschel will be a very nice complimentary player this coming season. He was extra hot in the Nevis game today, Reitschel went off for 20 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='1547737' first='Trey' last='Husar'] (2025) |6'4 SF| Northern Cass

The lefty surprised me a bit with his athleticism. Husar really got up in transition and 2-handed WHAMMED like a next-level athlete. Trey scored plenty of other points around the hoop with a soft touch. He slashed for buckets and he put it on the deck to beat the D. Husar hustled and he created turnovers. This is the best that I have seen Husar play. The Jags look like they are starting to come together!

[player_tooltip player_id='1334001' first='Caleb' last='Enger'] (2024) |6'0 G| Northern Cass

He was awesome in transition today. Enger brings a physical element in transition that NC was missing. His passing skills were on display. Enger made the easy pass but he also delivered dimes. Caleb looks like he could be the X-factor for the Jags this winter.

[player_tooltip player_id='1497484' first='Luke' last='Warner'] (2025) |6'9 C| Shanley

The BIG boy takes up a lot of space around the rim and he provides a serious post presence. Warner has a long wingspan and he has a nose for the ball. He was high-yielding on the offensive glass, Luke grabbed multiple rebounds over defenders that thought they had him boxed out. He also scored many points on putbacks. I like how Warner kept the ball high after he got the ball off the rim or on the block. He showed a soft touch when kissing the ball off the window. Warner also shared the ball from the block. He kicked out to shooters and dropped a give-n-go dime to a cutting teammate. I was impressed with his vision and soft touch. Luke has improved since I watched him last. Warner's game continues to get better and he has great size! If he keeps this upward trend, he could be a real problem this winter.

[player_tooltip player_id='2101425' first='Mike' last='Noack'] (2024) |6'2 G| Shanley

Today was my first time seeing Noack play and I liked what I saw. He is a good-sized guard and he is a nice athlete. Mike handles the rock well, pushed the tempo, and he finds shooters. When slashing, he got to the rim for buckets and also created good looks for others. Mike showed a dirty spin-move that made a defender look silly. Noack looks to be a serious and elusive slasher but he also cashed in from 3. I heard that Mr. Noack has worked hard in the weight room this summer, and it certainly showed. Keep eyes on this Deacon!

[player_tooltip player_id='1164079' first='Nick' last='Roemmich'] (2024) |5'11 G| St. Mary's

He found his shot in the last three games. Roemmich started knocking down tough shots from the outside and he pressured ball handlers on the defensive end. I liked the looks of his shot from beyond the arc. Nick played hard the whole day. It was a solid performance on his part.
