Dayton’s Top 5 Ball Handlers
One of the other great traits for a point guard is his ability to handle the ball, especially under pressure. Here are the top 5 ball-handlers in the Dayton area.
Devon Baker (2018)- One of Dunbar’s top returning guys, Devon showed great patience and great talent throughout the season last year, but especially during the state tournament. With defenses attempting to double team him, Baker stayed calm and collected and even made a few guys fall over defensively.
Andre Gordon (2019)- Again we see Gordon making a list in one of Dayton’s top 5. Andre has tremendous speed and handled strong pressure very well. Most teams tried to suffocate him defensively, but Gordon is so quick he drove by with ease and either finished at the rim or dished off for an assist.
Dillon McCullough (2018)- Many times last year, I watched Dillon attract double teams from defenses attempting to throw him off his game. McCullough handled the pressure well, and kept his composure while finding a way to distribute the ball without turning it over.
Caleb South (2018)- Although this is the 1st time, we see Caleb’s name on the Dayton top 5, he definitely deserves to be here. A great floor leader and scorer, South handled pressure from almost anyone that guarded him with ease and either made them pay with his nice 3PT touch or a nice finger roll at the rim.
Darius Quisenberry (2018)- Last but definitely not least, Darius may be the top ball handler in Dayton. He plays so smoothly and relaxed when facing tough pressure and handles it with ease. With his great court vision, Darius finds ways to get his teammates the ball when he faces tough defenders and sets them up for success.
