NOE Showcase Stock risers 2018
Saturday’s NOE Spotlight allowed multiple prospects to showcase their skills and several did just that. Here are the 5 players that increased their stock going forward from the class of 2018.
Mark Mayle– Malvern- One of several players in attendance from C2K Elite, Mark put on a clinic in the paint. He showed great footwork and awareness with the ball and finished well in traffic. I was also impressed with the movement he had without the ball. Rare for a post player, Mark cut to the basket from the perimeter several times and finished with easy layups and even a few dunks. Mark also possesses a nice 3PT shot and knocked down a few big shots.
Houston King– Toledo St. John’s- Houston put on a great offensive display and showed great aggressiveness in the paint. Rarely did King take any ill-advised shots and he showed a variety of range knocking down shots from all over the floor. Houston also showed he can play some serious defense as he was one of the better perimeter defenders all day yesterday.
Myles Belyeu– Trotwood-Madison- Of all the players from the class of 2018, Myles may have shown the most rise in his stock. Already known for being a defensive player, Belyeu showed he could guard on the perimeter and in the paint. Offensively, Myles showed he has improved this summer on different parts of his game. Already a physical rim attacker, Myles showed this part of his game as well as a very nice midrange shot that he knocked down with ease early on in the day. He also distributed the ball very well with his teammates, picking up assists just as much as he was scoring.
Mike Bothwell– Cornerstone Christian- Mike showed his athleticism and strong offensive game throughout the day. Able to hit from anywhere behind the arc, Mike knocked down 3 straight 3PT shots during one game and demonstrated great athleticism on both ends of the floor. Another C2K Elite player, he was arguably the best shooter regardless of class present at Lima.
BJ Patrick– Mansfield Senior- BJ demonstrated great point guard abilities and was one of the top performers Saturday. He showed great ball control and great handles and even distributed the ball very well. If he wasn’t assisting his teammates, he showed off his great shooting touch. Overall BJ was a great offensive talent that did not disappoint.
