Jackson was locking down every for OBC on Saturday. He did this due to his athleticism and build. He got great footwork and balance along with speed and sneaky strength. He also has some really long arms that allow him to be more aggressive defensively. He had great closeouts. He has a nice basketball IQ and anticipation defensively. He was getting blocks from the help side, got a ton of loose balls, and on-ball steals. His hands were active all game. He is a nice playmaker on the offensive end too. Anytime he was attacking the basketball good things happen for OBC.
Highlights
Bays is a really nice basketball player. He has a solid body that is strong. Defenders bounced off of him as he attacked the basket. He was consistently boding other guards and banging with bigger players around the rim. He is a great finisher with good body control. He is bouncy. Really good defender as well. Moves his feet well on the ball. He showed some really good passing ability as well when attacking the rim.
Highlights
Andrew Wiggins
Andrew Wiggins
Wiggins really impressed me with his play for Illinois Fight. He was super active on both ends of the floor. He made some really good cuts that got himself open and easy buckets. He has some great leaping ability and acerbating finishing that made his around-the-rim finishes almost impossible to block. He used his body really well to shield the defense. He also took the ball to the rim very strongly. Wiggins is a great strong slasher.
Parker Maurer
Parker Maurer
Maurer was the difference-maker in the game I saw him play on Saturday. The other team simply could not stop him in transition. Whether it was finishing it around a lot of traffic or dishing it to his teammates. He was the best in transition but he also showed great slashing to the rim ability. He got to the free-throw line often and knocked them all down. He has a really good understanding of how to attack the defenders’ feet. He put consistent pressure on the rim all game and made the other team pay.
