Maybe they scored a bit, but usually it’s an intangible that scouts will see as an asset, if it can be developed. Maybe it’s a short run during a game, a tuff shot, a couple of blocks, but whatever it is that catches our eye it is a foundation within the prospect. It’s jumps off the court and should be a baseline for the athlete to go from there.
Justin Cain | 6’5″ | W | Indiana Game Elite
Cole Doulbugh | 6’6″ | W | Indiana Game Elite
These two prospects from Indiana Game Elite certainly look the part: big and athletic. With Justin I felt that his interior footwork was solid enough at this stage and that he had a nice feel around the hoop, in the game that I watched. With Cole I felt that he imposed his physical will a bit more and had several blocks to show for it. They can do more than be just post players though because of their athleticism and projected improvement arc. The pair make an a very imposing front line and a tough tandem to mess with. With these two and this team I want to see more and love the brand of ball that they are trying to accomplish.
Kyle Suger | 6’4″ | W | Geneva, IL. | M14 Hoops
This one here has a chance to be a player, being a 2026 prospect that is long and lean, has a shot from the outside, can handle a little bit, and then move to the hoop a bit. The only thing that will keep him back is him. This is not, in the least, a negative shot at the prospect, but an acknowledgement that he has the basic tools inside of him now. With work on the court and in the weight room especially, all of this should be come pouring out with the development of a killer attitude.
Cam Gunsell | 6’3″ | W | Ludington, MI | Hardwood Midwest
After watching this prospect and his team over two games this past weekend I came away impressed. During the first game Gunsell showed me the grit, toughness, hustle type of player who it was ok for his teammates to thrive while he did the dirty work. In the second game he was the main focus by being the leading scorer dropping a cool 19pts. For me, do you know how impressive this is? The kid works, is competitive, wants to win, and then can deliver what his team needs for a win. Most of his points were more inside type, but in the two games he did show he could knock down the outside jumper by nailing three 3s. Moving forward, if he stays at the 6’3″ish range I would like to see more handles and a hunters mentality on his shot. But what a way to impress the scout in the first two games that I was able to see.
Will Tobin | 6’4″ | W | Potosi, WI | Wisconsin Hoops Select
First time seeing this team and this prospect. In this particular game his team ran into a team that couldn’t miss a shot in the first half, but the thing that jumped out was that Tobin never spotted working. He is a tall, big-bodied prospect that, at first glance, you would think was just a post player, but he did step out on the parameter at times. Thought his footwork on the interior was solid enough for a 2026 player. He was involved in almost every 50/50 ball or rebound. I think he is a prospect that we should check back on as he progresses through his high school career.
Roan Koeper Roan Koeper 6'9" | PF Neenah | 2026 WI | 6’9″ | W | 6’9″ | Neenah, WI | Wisconsin Crusaders
I had the pleasure of watching two games of his and thought he had a presence and carried himself well. His team went 1-1 in those games and I can tell you that that presence meant something in both games. He is not currently a big scorer but, every time he left the game for a breather or rotation purposes, the game changed. In the first game, the WC team had the lead mostly and the game became tighter when Keoper was on the bench. Not as many drives to the hoop, not as many shots around the rim, and opponent’s normally effective pull-ups were all changed. Additionally, I saw a couple of nifty passes which means he has skill, and much more is a willing passer. His developing athleticism was on display by the blocks he had or the way the big man ran the floor.
