Despite not having an overly impressive summer, Zyion is a guy I still remain high on long-term. He’s been in the Top 10 since the debut of the rankings thanks to his unique length and ability to do a little bit of everything. Jones is comfortable working in the post, on the perimeter, or off the dribble, and he doesn’t need a lot of the ball to positively affect the game. He is also a good defender when he can match up with fours and threes, but he’ll need to put on muscle to hold up at the next level.

Zyion is a guy who has many fans within college programs. He might not be the high-volume scorer or highlight-reel player that some of the other guys on his team are, but Jones can impact the game without needing much of the ball. He is as good at driving and finishing with both hands as any wing or forward in the 2028 class, but he is also continuing to show good progress with his outside shot. Jones moves well without the ball, competes extremely well on the offensive glass, and is a plus defender when he’s on the floor. It’s only a matter of time until the Division 1 offers start rolling in for Zyion.

Another young Keenan Raider who stepped up in the win was Jones, who put up 16 points and 11 rebounds. Zyion is one of the best defenders in the Palmetto State regardless of class. He can hold up around the rim despite a more slender frame, but he is also excellent off-the-ball with his length and instincts. His offensive productivity helped keep Keenan in it in the first half because he challenged the offensive glass and created second-chance points, but he was also a part of the big fourth-quarter run with a left-corner three. The three-ball will be the telling sign of Jones’ long-term future, but he is ready now to be a key player on one of the best teams in the state.

Zyion was a huge part of Upward Stars SE ‘s win over Team CP3. He came off the bench and was the perfect piece to finish the puzzle in crunch time. Jones made his impact felt with active on-ball defense, picking up opposing ball handlers and using his length to disrupt things. When off the ball, he had some strong box outs and rotated well to challenge shots. He also had a few impressive moves on the offensive end of the floor, including one really good move with his back to the basket. This was the best game I’ve seen from Zyion so far and one that proves his long-term potential.
