Expert Analysis
Miles Masercola | Prep Hoops Scout
Arnold is a classic do whatever it takes to win type of guy and every team he plays for greatly values what he brings to the table each and every night. Davidson Day finds themselves as a real threat to win the NCISAA 3A title despite their 19-10 record. They’ve played a very difficult schedule and brought a lot of new pieces in so it took some time for everything to gel. Davidson Day has put together 5 consecutive wins at the time of writing so they’re hitting their stride at the right time. Arnold brings so many important things to the table for a team with a lot of talent. He has a very selfless approach, willing to pick up whatever slack is left for him to grab whether it be scoring, rebounding, or playmaking. He’s able to be a truly disruptive defender and then on the offensive end, he’s consistently in the paint, drawing attention and then making a play for a teammate. He’s just a great utility guard to have on your roster and should find himself with more and more next level opportunities presenting themselves if he can help Davidson Day put together an impressive State Title run.

Arnold is another really well rounded guard that has found himself surrounded by stars in his senior season at Davidson Day and there aren’t many guards in NC I’d rather have alongside this stacked group. Arnold will simply help fill in the gaps in every way. He’s a walking triple double threat because of how much he crashes the glass, even offensively. He’s a physical driver, capable of bullying other guards that aren’t ready to play that brand of basketball. He does a great job spreading the ball around to the star studded front court at Davidson Day. Arnold doesn’t shoot a ton from the outside but is capable of knocking it down from time to time. Expect Arnold to continue a special senior season at Davidson Day and garner more recruiting attention in the process.

Arnold will be a new face to know on the NCISAA stage with Davidson Day, though he did damage the past three seasons with Lake Norman High; he’s a pass-first floor general who can defend the entire floor as well; a gritty floor general you don’t find his type on the hardwood much anymore

Arnold is a point guard worthy of college attention from DI and DII programs in the region given his prowess to fill up the stat sheet. He’s producing 14.6 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 2.2 steals and fresh off a triple-double (15 points, 10 assists, 10 rebounds) in a 99-71 victory over GMC rival Mooresville. They’re 17-1 and surging as they look to win another NCHSAA State Title with Lake Norman High.

(Gaston Christian). He’s a point guard with a high IQ for knowing how to control the pace and find guys in their spots to make things happen in a hurry. He was a successful piece in their success on the UA stage as one of the leaders on the hardwood. He has the ability to fill up the stat sheet without just scoring the basketball. He’s a floor general due for a breakout junior year for the Lake Norman Wildcats following last year’s run in the NCHSAA State Playoffs.

Nick Arnold Nick Arnold 6'0" | PG Davidson Day | 2026 State NC is making things click for Team Charlotte ‘s 16U group, attacking the interior, distributing the ball to his shooters, and continuing to operate as a defensive nightmare. He exploded for 20 in a win over Storm Basketball, and is really showing signs of breaking out and being a high level prospect. The defensive intensity and toughness he brings game in and out is unmatched, constantly hounding ball handlers, not being afraid to put his nose on the hardwood, and staying constantly active in order to force mistakes.

Arnold is an intriguing floor general to keep an eye on over at Lake Norman in the 2026 class as he moves into the 34th spot. He led the Wildcats in assists (3.9 per game) and steals ( 2.2 per game) while also producing 7.4 PPG and 5.7 RPG. He’s a prospect who knows how to fill up the stat sheet and be effective with his IQ as a point guard. He’ll be a name to watch with Team Charlotte on the UAA stage this grassroots cycle.
