Wood is a big body frontcourt player that was a bruiser in the paint. He clogged up space and was a steady presence on both ends of the floor. He has a very good knack for scoring in the paint and around the rim. He does not have great lift off the floor but he knows how to maneuver in the paint and get his shot off. He brought a lot of energy to camp and was one of the hardest working guys throughout the day. Defensively he still has to work on his feet especially when he gets caught out on the perimeter. When defending the low block, he is hard to move so he makes it tough for players to try and estsblish low block position. Look for him to carve out a space in the Rebels line-up next year as his rebounsing and post defense can be a benefit to give Jordan Ross Jordan Ross 6'5" | PF Vestavia | 2024 State AL a breather.
Ben Simms Ben Simms 6'0" | PG Indian Springs | 2025 State AL (5’10/PG/’25/Indian Springs School)

Ben has become a favorite of the entire #iBallTDB staff. They absolutely love this kid and all speak very high of Ben. He is a sponge when it comes to learning the game and he showed his cerebral capacity throughout camp. He is a very smart player that plays with a high IQ. He knows how to orchstrate an offense and he can knock down the perimeter jumper. He is a very good player that has a solid all-around game. He is a good passser, creator off th ebounce has good shot selection and is very efficient with his scoring opportunities. He is the type of player that gets it, and is set to have an eye capturing junior campaign.
Conor McPherson (6’3/G|F/’24/Carver High School (Montgomery))

If there was one player that benefitted the most from coming to camp it was Conor. An uknown player that many who was looking over when viewing the camp roster, quickly became a known player. He was absolutely a monster with the rock in his hands. He was a high volume scorer and it wasn’t just the fact that he could score, but it was the multilplicty of ways that he got it done. He can score off the bounce, in c&s opportunities, can post smaller guards, hits the offensive glass, and has a bag full of one on one moves that he kept hitting defenders with throughout the day. Conor is a scoring threat whenever he touches the ball and was one of the best at creating his own shot. The question that was on the sidelines and in the stands was why was this kid not playing at Carver. Our eyes are on Conor and we will keep you updated.
Tyler Holifield (5’9/CG/’26/Pinson Valley HS)

Tyler is another up-and-comong guard that is in the Pinson Valley system. With a program that seems to keep talented guards in their stable, they have found the next youngest emerging guard in the program. He was sensational throughout camp at being a playmaker with the rock in his hands. What makes Tyler so interesting as a prospect is that his game is still so far from complete, yet he is a young CG that can get it done. He played under control, was a heady floor general, hit tough shots and made impressive passes just to name a few attributes that he put on display. With Tyler and Clyde Walters who is also a 2026 prospect, Pinson is going to be in contention for several years to come.
Earnest Alexander, IV. (6’2/SG/’26/Hoover HS)

While Hoover just lifted the blue map and was led by three sensational sophomores, look for the Bucs to have added depth to their squad as Earnest has a really good chance to find himself in the varsity rotation next year. He is a down hill attacking guard that knows how to get to his spots and does so with explosiveness. He showed a tenacity and a grit that is going to be a added dimension in being able to step up and give quality minutes next year. He plays both ends of the floor and gets after opponents on both ends. He is a player that you have to give attention to when he is on offense and he is a player that you try to avoid when he is on defense because he puts so much pressure on the ball-handler. He looked very good throughout camp.
Paul Dixon (6’0/CG/’25/Westminster School at Oak Mountain)
Paul had a good showing in camp as he was just solid throughout. He did not do anything to hurt his stock and he did not do a lot to increase it. Ina gym full of talent he blended in well. Now that might not seem like much, but when you think about th elevel of talent that was in the building and you can fit right in, that showed that he could handle his own. He is a good ball-handler and showed his ability to score from the pereimeter. He played within the flow of the games and you can tell that he has a good understanding of how to play the right way. I do believe that he could have been more assertive which could have led to him standing out a little more. He has the skillset to push the limits and hopefully we will be able to see him again in the fall camp.
