As the #1 Ranked-Center in the state, there are definitely some outside eyes on Caslaru. He recently visited and was offered by the Air Force Academy, where he’d be able to make a difference on and off the court. Mark is a very good shot blocker who can also add some things on offense.

Caslaru was very impressive for the Copperheads this weekend, leaving a good impression on College Coaches. I caught up with Mark and company in a matchup with Gaffney, where he went for 16 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 blocks. He was an impactful rim protector early and often, preventing the Indian Offense from ever having easy looks in the paint. Mark also showed his polish as an offensive player, knocking down two threes, a turnaround mid-range jumper, and being used for dribble hand-offs.

Caslaru is one of the more intriguing big-man prospects in the class. He has progressed well over the past year and will team up with Garner Road Basketball Club on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit this Spring. Mark has a very nice faceup game and is a strong rebounder. During the High School Season, Nation Ford had a deep frontcourt so it will be intriguing to see if Caslaru can carve out a large role for himself with Garner Road.
