Of the 12 new additions to the 2025 rankings, the ones who jumped the highest were guards, led by Free State's [player_tooltip player_id='1772979' first='Zeek' last='Brown'] (#12) and Galena's [player_tooltip player_id='1772980' first='Jack' last='Perry'] #13.

Further down the list, however, were five forwards and a center who have really impressed in the first half of the high school season.

Here are the six bigs added to the 2025 class ranking:

14 – [player_tooltip player_id='1772981' first='Kai' last='Reid'], 6-foot-2 small forward, 2025, Piper:

Piper is turning in a really nice season with some wins over top teams like Topeka West and Eudora. They're doing it while playing some young guys, led by the sophomore Reid. He's the second leading scorer and rebounder on the team with 12.5 points and 6.5 rebounds. He's a powerful and explosive leaper who finishes efficiently around the hoop. In addition to grabbing double-digit rebounds three times, he also dishes out 2 assists per game. Against a top team like De Soto, he recently scored 21 points and pulled down 7 boards.

26 – [player_tooltip player_id='1772984' first='Jackson' last='Rumford'], 6-foot-5 center, 2025 Scott Community:

After getting his feet wet as a freshman, Rumford has suddenly blown up as one of the most productive bigs in 3A as a sophomore. He is a big guy who hits a high percentage of shots around the goal and on putbacks. But he creates problems for the defense by finding spots on the perimeter to catch and shoot threes. His 18 points and 9 rebounds top the team, and he also adds 2.5 assists per game.

27 – [player_tooltip player_id='1740754' first='Barrett' last='Moddelmog'] 6-foot-3 forward, 2025, Moundridge (pictured):

Moundridge returned some pretty good seniors this year, but Moddelmog is a team leader as a sophomore. He is a physical athlete who can really shoot it and is a powerful rebounder. He went for 20 points in the championship game of the recent Canton-Galva Invitational championship game. He's played a ton already and is an experienced and confident leader.

37 – [player_tooltip player_id='1772992' first='Jace' last='Humphrey'] 6-foot-4 forward, 2025, Salina South:

It's been a tough season for the Cougars, but Humphrey has been a bright spot. He is a long, lean but rugged big who can play the post or pop out on the wing. He has a smooth release when he floats to an open spot on the floor. He blew up for 24 points in the season opener and is scoring at a 14 point-per-game clip. He also averages 7 boards. He runs the floor and handles the ball well enough to take a rebound the other way.

38 – [player_tooltip player_id='1772993' first='Colden' last='Cook'], 6-foot-3 forward, 2025, Humboldt:

Humboldt is off to a great start on the season, with Cook playing a big role in the success. After averaging 5 points and 3 boards as a freshman, he's more than doubled that output as a sophomore for the 11-2 Cubs, who are playing a very young group. Cook is the second leading scorer and rebounder with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists per outing.

39 – [player_tooltip player_id='1772994' first='Ty' last='Romero'], 6-foot-2 forward, 2025, Elyria Christian:

With victories against some good small schools, Elyria Christian is a team to keep an eye on. Romero averaged 11 points per game and earned second-team in the Wheat State League as a freshman. He received KSHSAA honorable-mention honors, one of only a few ninth graders to receive such mention. He can step out and nail multiple threes in a game.
