is described as an athletic and long defender with a great knack for offensive rebounds and quick put backs. He’s been noted as being able to guard multiple positions including guards on the perimeter which is what high level basketball requires in today’s form. Kuany has offers from Indiana St, Youngstown St, Eastern Michigan and Arkansas-Little Rock.

The most dominant defensive player from Ohio at the event, Kuany was really seeing his defensive impact shown. Able to move his feet on the perimeter and switch onto guards while also protecting the rim, it’s tough for prospects of any size to score on Kuany. Having at least three or four blocks in one half in a game I caught, Kuany was erasing looks at the rim and even tipped a jumper as well. Offensively, Kuany has a ways to go with his touch and hands but his athleticism allowed him to grab offensive rebounds and dunk at the rim. Also flashing the 3-point shot, Kuany is not a guy you can leave wide open and expect him to not make you pay.

Kuany is now a teammate with McCulloch during the high school season with Lutheran East and continues to have moments where his upside is obvious. An impressive lateral mover of his feet for his size, Kuany can guard the perimeter and defend in a variety of ways. With five blocks and four steals in just over 90 minutes of action, Kuany is averaging about one defensive stock every 10 minutes he’s on the floor. Offensively he’s a role guy with the occasional jumper, he’s 0-4 from 3-point range on the week so far. With more rebounds than points, Kuany doesn’t take many shots and is mostly looking to rim run and catch passes on the lob or short roll.

A prospect who’s come a long way since I first saw him in January, Kuany now holds a couple of Division I offers with Eastern Michigan being the latest school to offer. Playing on the interior in the EYBL, Kuany has shown impressive motor and impact around the rim at both ends. Active on the offensive glass and playing with the length to protect the rim as well, Kuany is tied for second on Indy Heat in blocks. Trying to expand his range as a shooter, Kuany is 1/10 from 3-point range and shooting 58% from the free throw line in EYBL play showing that these skills are a work in progress but he is making some improvements. I expect more low to mid major programs to evaluate Kuany this summer and more schools get involved with his recruitment.

A guy who boosted his stock this weekend, Kuany proved to me that he’s a Division I level target for schools looking for a big man. Kuany plays with a high motor and his explosive second jump and long wingspan allow him to get his hands on loose balls and rebounds. His most productive game came against Boo Williams where his activity in the paint was a key factor in Indy Heat’s ability to hang around all game. I also thought Kuany flashed a couple ball-handling skills that were new to my eyes when watching him. I think there’s a lot of upside in Kuany for a program that’s willing to be patient in developing a big. Look for low major programs to start calling about Kuany if he continues this play during the next live periods.

Kuany is the final ISA prospect added to our 2024 rankings in this update as the 6’9 big man has lots of athleticism and long term potential. He’s another guy I’ll get to watch this spring alongside Williams as the pair will be together with Indy Heat. When I last saw Kuany in January I thought he was pretty raw offensively with some physical tools to work with down the line. After a few months, I’m intrigued to see the development he’s made since my last in person scouting opportunity for Kuany.
