2020 Watch List: Top Ten Guards/Wings Prospects
Prospect rankings for the class of 2020 will not premier until after the grassroots season. However, in order to put things into perspective, we’re naming the Top Ten at each position for now.
The following (Top Ten) 2020 guards/wings are in alphabetical order. Click here for the point guard edition.
Andy Barba, 6’5”, Ohio Basketball Club / Cleveland Benedictine
Barba is one of the most fundamentally sound athletic wings. He also shoots the ball very well. Might separate himself from the majority of the pack as his career progresses.
Very strong and collected performance from @benehoops / OBC G @AndyBarba22 (2020). Catch and shoot and consistent finishes. Efficient player

Carl Blanton, 6’2”, All Ohio Red EYBL / Trotwood Madison
Not many other players in the 2020 class who dedicate themselves to defense in the way Blanton does. Also uses that intensity to drive hard to the rim. Underrated jump shot.
Trotwood G @CarlBlanton11 drives hard for the game winner, as they get the 57-56 win. Assist from Coffman PG @dompenn_. Incredible game

VonCameron Davis, 6’4”, C2K Elite / Walnut Ridge
Davis could be included in the forward/center article, as he does most of his damage in the paint. However, we foresee him becoming a valuable combo forward who is most problematic (for the opponent) as a perimeter player.
Teams just keep letting Walnut Ridge / @C2KElite W @VonCam4841 (2020) catch it at the elbow, like he's not going to kill them from that spot

Josiah Fulcher, 6’1”, All Ohio Red EYBL / Pickerington Central
We’re excited to watch Fulcher develop, as he has some crucial physical tools currently. He finishes quite consistently in transition and can hit shots from way deep in the half-court.
6'1 @PCTigersHoops / @all_ohio G @jojo21__ (2020) spreads the floor in the half court and finished consistently on the break. Nice upside.

Chris Herbort, 6’1”, All Ohio Elite / Beavercreek
Here’s the underrated prospect! Herbort is a blue-collar player who people think is just going to stand in the corner and gun threes. However, he actually finishes through contact often and pushes guys around off-ball. Everything we know about Herbort points to a kid who works hard.
There's more to @bcreek_hoops / @all_ohio 6'1 G Chris Herbort (2020) than spotting up. Physical kid that looks to take it to your chest 📈

Grant Huffman, 6’3”, Ohio Basketball Club / Lakewood St. Edward
Huffman may develop into more of a point guard role, as he’s an extremely talented ball-handler and makes smart decisions. Regardless, Huffman gets to spots quite easily against premier competition and scores at all three levels.
Turns out this @GrantHuffmann kid is pretty good. Handling this ball pressure incredibly well for a guy some consider to be a wing
— Anthony Garcia (@nthonycgarcia) May 7, 2017
Marcus Johnson, 6’3”, C2K Elite / Columbus South
Johnson is most effective in transition currently, as we don’t get the sense he trusts his jump shot. As he develops more aspects of his game, this elite athlete could blossom into one of 2020’s finest players.
6'4 F (STVM/NEO SS) F Marcus Johnson (2020) is impressive with his face-up game off the dribble. VERY effective inside and out. Hard to stop

Chris Mayfield, 6’3”, Mid Ohio Pumas / Hilliard Bradley
For what it’s worth, Mayfield is likely the best player on this list currently. He does it all, even at this young of an age. He’s one of these very young prospects who is already producing at a high rate, not simply a “potential” guy. Mayfield recently announced on Twitter that he received a football scholarship from Louisville.
6'3 W @Chrismayfield42 (2020), who is usually with @MidOhioPumas, has been the best Ohio prospect in this game IMO. Special player
— Anthony Garcia (@nthonycgarcia) May 7, 2017
Jalen Ross, 6’4”, NEO Shooting Stars / Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary
Tough, competitive kid who can control a game from the elbow. Ross enters the triple-threat on the mid-range catch, and can punish a defense if he gets them out of position. Interested to see where he fits best, as far as position goes.
6'3 W Jalen Ross (2020) is a special finisher for NEO SS. Hangs in the air a lot longer than his counterparts. Aggressive slasher.

Grant Whisman, 6’5”, Mid Ohio Pumas / Middletown Madison
The game seems to move slowly for Whisman. While we do have questions about his foot-speed, it’s a bit nit-picky. Very solid basketball player who will lead a young Middletown Madison team to a lot of wins over the next three seasons.
Programs from A-10, Big Ten, Big East, Big South, PAC-12, Missouri Valley, and MAC, showing interest in Grant Whisman (2020).@PrepHoopsOH
