Recruiting Report: Isaac Prewitt (2018)
Des Moines Christian had one of the better backcourts in Iowa last season, and 2018 guard Isaac Prewitt made up one half if it.
The 6-foot-2 guard played alongside Minnesota-Crookston commit Ben Juhl, and posted some nice numbers in the process; 14.1 points, 3.6 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game.
That success has translated into some NAIA and D3 interest for the sharpshooting junior. Some D2 interest has started to trickle in lately as well.
“Recruitment started up a little bit, it’s starting now kind of. The Dordt coaches have talked to me, and the University of Chicago has sent me some stuff,” said Prewitt.
“Also some college coaches are talking to my coach about me, like Nebraska-Kearney and Winona State has talked to my AAU coach also.”
A combo-guard with a versatile skill-set, Prewitt defined his talents in his own words to PHIA.
“I’d say I’m kind of a combo guard; for Des Moines Christian I played more of a point guard and for Kingdom Hoops I play more of a shooting guard,” he said.
“I’d say my best strength is I shoot the ball well, and another thing is I can see the floor and pass well. And also just being a smart player and making hustle plays, and reading guys and knowing where the ball is going to be.
He’ll spend his spring and summer with Kingdom Hoops Elite, and says the goal is to get some additional exposure — D2 or NAIA is where he’d like to play.
“This summer I’m just looking to get better and hopefully get some looks from colleges. If I get the opportunity to, I’d love to play at the next level,” said Prewitt.
“I’m really hoping that I can play at the D2 or NAIA level, that’s my goal, and I’m working really hard to get to that. I’m pushing myself everyday and working really hard to get to that level.”
