Prep Hoops SC took in the Sunday action from the Big Shots Wilmington event hosted by Flight 22. The event was held at the Wilmington Basketball Center. Here is a look at some players that stood out today while we were in attendance from the 2019-2020 class.
Sherod Sidbury (2019) Laney HS (Wilmington) – Wilmington Basketball Club Elite 16U Greene
Sidbury 6’3 is a physical specimen on the floor. Sidbury a quarterback on the gridiron for the Buccaneers is a tweener on the basketball floor. Sidbury looked to over power players at times today and attack the baseline.
Kamron Greene (2019) Coastal Christian (Wilmington) – Wilmington Basketball Club Elite 16U
Greene had the hot hand for the WBC Elite 16U today. Greene 5’8 a undersized scoring guard took home MVP honors after helping WBC Elite 16U Elite to the Gld Bracket Championship. Greene hit several 3 pointers and shows to have a quick shot release.
Shamon Wooten (2019) South Lenoir HS (Kinston) – Flight 22 16U
Wooten 6’0 guard made some big plays today for Flight 22 16U. Wooten came off the bench today and hit a few nice mid-range jumpers and handled the ball well in transition. Wooten has a good feel for the game.
Jordan McNeill (2020) Lumberton HS – Wilmington Basketball Club Elite 2020 15U
McNeill helped his squad win the 15U Bracket over Flight 22 15U Parker. McNeill walked away with MVP Honors for the weekend. McNeill broke down ball pressure all day today with his crafty ball handling. McNeill really has good court vision and has ability to knockdown mid-range jumpers. McNeill averaged 13.7 ppg, 4.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists this season for Pirates.
Jajuan Carr (2020) Trask HS (Rocky Point) – Wilmington Basketball Club Elite 2020 15U
Carr is very poised for his young age on the hardwood. Carr complements McNeill very well in the this back court. Carr really likes to attack the basket off the dribble or bury a jumper. Carr tends to be in the right spot on many occasions on the defensive end. Carr averaged 12.1 ppg and 5.2 rebounds this past season at Trask HS.
Tonka Hemingway (2020) Conway HS (SC) – Ascend Ballers
Hemingway probably has a future in the SEC Conference playing football since he already has received a offer from the South Carolina Gamecocks. Hemingway a defensive end is very nimble on his feet and thrives on drawing contact in the paint. Hemingway also plays baseball for the Tigers.
