[player_tooltip player_id='1385283' first='Aleks' last='Alston'] has an Extremely High Ceiling

A 6'9” player in high school is usually someone who plays down low. But not [player_tooltip player_id='1385283' first='Aleks' last='Alston']. The 2025 Small Forward shot lights-out for Kenwood, including four consecutive 3's in the second quarter. Late in that quarter, he made a nice feed in transition for another easy score. Alston is a defensive threat in the paint and on the perimeter with his long arms and huge frame. Kenwood ousted Fenwick 70-44.

Rita Big 3 Dominates Lincoln Park

The junior trio of [player_tooltip player_id='1157228' first='James' last='Brown'], [player_tooltip player_id='1157230' first='Morez' last='Johnson'], and [player_tooltip player_id='1157223' first='Nojus' last='Indrusaitis'] made a big impact in their own way. [player_tooltip player_id='1157228' first='James' last='Brown'] had a hot start on both ends. Once he got in foul trouble, [player_tooltip player_id='1157230' first='Morez' last='Johnson'] really game to light. Johnson was all over the floor. Knocking down tough bucket after tough bucket and getting to the line. He took 20 free-throws and made 12 of them. His effort on the offensive glass was terrific. The best moment of the game was when [player_tooltip player_id='1157230' first='Morez' last='Johnson'] dribbled through the entire Lincoln Park team to find Nojus for the slam. Nojus would add 14 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists. Brown had 12 points and 7 rebounds.

Young Takes Care of Business Despite Strong Effort From Hammond

It was a lightning quick first quarter with Pigram, Davis, and Johnson getting 3's for a 9-4 advantage. An explosive dunk for [player_tooltip player_id='1385300' first='Antonio' last='Munoz'] kicked off the 2nd quarter. [player_tooltip player_id='939057' first='Dalen' last='Davis'] would then hit back-to-back 3's to extend the lead. Davis had 9 first half points while Munoz snagged 8 boards. [player_tooltip player_id='1048324' first='Daniel' last='Johnson'] shot perfect 3-3 from the floor to begin the 2nd half, with a 3-pointer, midrange jumper, and a fast-break slam. Then it was Davis's turn. A terrific feed to Pigram and an and-one finish inside gave Young their first double-digit lead as the third quarter ended. Hammond made it a close game and kept it within 4 late. But another [player_tooltip player_id='939057' first='Dalen' last='Davis'] and-one prevented any hope of a comeback. Davis finished with 20 points and 3 assists. [player_tooltip player_id='1048324' first='Daniel' last='Johnson'] scored 19 pts with 8 rebounds, and [player_tooltip player_id='1385300' first='Antonio' last='Munoz'] had 13 points and 13 rebounds. Whitney Young won 61-56

Lots of Impact Players at Proviso East

[player_tooltip player_id='1048386' first='Jaloni' last='Johnson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='939056' first='Bryce' last='Coleman'] are the two most well-known names. But the play from other players was outstanding. Diamonte Meeks is a super crafty guard with insane vision. He made two no-look assists in the opening minutes. His second resulted in a posterizing dunk from Coleman. Strong contributions were also made by Byron Pullen, [player_tooltip player_id='1279770' first='Emory' last='Marshall'], and DeMar Jenkins in the opening half. Marshall knocked down several tough shots and played with a high level of confidence. He showed off a really smooth 2nd-chance layup early in the third quarter and finished with 15 points. Byron Pullen made some great off-ball runs and found a few easy scores. Proviso West won 74-60 led by [player_tooltip player_id='1048386' first='Jaloni' last='Johnson']'s 17 points.

Jevon Warren is a Stock Booster

A big reason why TF north was unbeaten heading in to Tuesday was because of Jevon Warren. The 2023 Forward has a strong build and can make lots of athletic plays. He boxes out better than anyone I've seen so far. On offense, Warren found lots of consistency scoring inside and had 10 first half points. He would nearly triple his scoring total in the 2nd half and made lots of explosive plays to the hoop. He wasn't a well-known prospect for me until today. Warren is now a player who should be on the radar of low D1's and High D2/D3 programs. He finished with 27 points and 11 boards.
