With the Wisconsin high school basketball schedule on a small hiatus due to the holiday season, Prep Hoops Wisconsin looks at a couple of Big Eight prospects who have impressed:

[player_tooltip player_id='1141638' first='Gavyn' last='Hurley'] -- G -- Middleton

Hurley is in the midst of an incredible season. His play through five games is a major reason why Middleton finds themselves at the top of the Big Eight standings. The guard is just overall an excellent basketball player. He scores, passes, rebounds, and plays defense. Pretty much anything that his coach asks him to do, Hurley is capable of getting done. The Winona State commit will surely make a great player at the college level.

Chris Davis Jr. -- PG -- Sun Prairie West

I still think that Davis is one of the more slept on prospects in the state. I saw the point guard play a couple of times this past AAU season and was very impressed. He is quick and skilled with the ball in his hands. A dynamic scorer who can also get teammates involved is rare to find at this level. But Davis checks off both of these boxes. I would encourage college programs to not forget Davis' name.

[player_tooltip player_id='1384712' first='Camron' last='Henderson'] -- PG -- Madison East

Even though he stands at just 5-foot-9, Henderson is not limited at all on the court. The Madison East point guard has developed into a really good player this season. He scores well, makes smart passes, and is a player that his coaches and teammates can trust. He is scoring 15 points per game on the young season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1028255' first='Arhman' last='Lewis'] -- PG -- Madison La Follette

I am convinced that Lewis is going to develop into a really great player at the next level. It may not happen right away, but there is no doubt that the Madison La Follette point guard owns some serious talent. Through three games, Lewis has put his team on his back. He is scoring just over 23 points per contest. Certainly a prospect who deserves credit for how good he is, look out for Lewis the rest of the way.

[player_tooltip player_id='1324016' first='Tre' last='Miller'] -- G -- Janesville Parker

One of the more pleasant surprises of this 2022-23 season so far has been Janesville Parker's Miller. The guard was productive as a junior, but now in his final season of high school action, Miller has taken his game to another level. He is scoring an impressive 23 points per game. Miller is an efficient three-point marksmen who can catch fire from downtown in a hurry.

[player_tooltip player_id='1260947' first='Sam' last='Mickelson'] -- PF -- Madison Memorial

Don't be surprised if Mickelson eventually cracks the top ten in Wisconsin's 2024 class rankings. You don't see many power forwards at the high school level like the Madison Memorial standout. He can drain outside shots with ease and then use his 6-foot-7 frame to convert on difficult layups near the bucket. Through five games, Mickelson has played at a very high level. His potential is truly off the charts.

[player_tooltip player_id='1156904' first='Drew' last='Murphy'] -- SF -- Verona

One of the top ranked prospects in Wisconsin's 2025 class, Murphy is playing excellent basketball for Verona this season. The shooting guard has solidified his spot as one of the better players in the Big Eight. Standing at 6-foot-4 with a strong frame, Murphy is a great slasher and scorer. He attacks the bucket aggressively and typically converts at a high rate. Look out for Murphy the rest of this winter.
