The shooting that made the Yellowjacket stand out as a sophomore is still there. Especially with his improved off the dribble game and a money stepback that he unleashes in the mid-range and from beyond the arc. His three point range looks ready for college. It’s also a testament to his work ethic that he has developed a full game around that shooting. Hyman has especially developed his passing ability, from making reads off ball screens to disturbing all over the court. With Choctaw expected to be among the top teams in Class 6A, Hyman should have plenty of opportunities to show off his winning traits to college coaches.

Along with hitting tough three pointers, Hyman was a key part of Primetime’s excellent ball movement and unselfish play. From feeding “pocket passes” to Wilson on rolls to the basket, to a great mid-air find after the defense collapsed on him, the Choctaw game showed huge versatility in how he impacted the game.

Hyman’s evolution over the last year has been very fun to watch. As a sophomore he first caught the eye as a long range bomber, his performance in a win on Saturday afternoon was further proof that he’s more than just a floor spacer now. His shot wasn’t falling in that game, but he was a key facilitator. From good reads in the halfcourt, pitching it ahead in transition, and even some flair with “touch” and “no look” passing, the Choctaw 2024 prospect was impactful. Now as more of a complete guard prospect, down the road Hyman should garner more college interest.

. The junior guard earns his spot on this breakdown with his performance in the championship game victory over El Reno. Specifically, one shot. Hyman would hit a shot with two seconds left to give the Yellowjackets the win. They trailed 55-53 with 13 seconds left and Hyman would get the ball and bury a three-pointer with 2.2 seconds left and the Yellowjackets would stun the Indians. A few things on that shot. One, it was from a few feet beyond the three-point arc. Hyman has range. Two, they showed how confident they were as a team as they went for the win instead of playing for overtime.
