one of the most improved players in SCISA, but he has firmly set himself as a next-level big prospect. Tripp’s box-score numbers are quite impressive: 10.1 points per game, 11.0 rebounds per game, 1.5 steals per game, and 3.1 blocks per game. Eidson has taken big strides on the offensive end of the floor this season, turning into a strong finisher and a capable threat from 12-15 feet. The Panthers will match up with Heathwood Hall on Friday, and they will need him to be efficient with his touches and defend without fouling in order to walk away as State Champions.

. He might not fit in with some of the others on the list when it comes to shooting, but he was excellent in the game and posed a matchup weakness for the Falcons. Tripp was dominant on the offensive glass, including a stretch where he scored six straight second-chance points as Pinewood Prep grabbed an early lead. Eidson can also work quickly when facing up around the rim with a size advantage. Despite the loss, Tripp finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds against the Falcons.

Tripp is the only true big man of the 15U Standout List. He has a good frame and fights for space in the paint. Edison also has soft hands and good touch around the basket. He had a couple of opportunities to punish smaller defenders on Saturday morning, and did so both times. Tripp also is a good rebounding presence and affects shots on the defensive end.

Yes, Tripp is the grandson of Pinewood Prep Head Coach Pat Eidson. Tripp is just an 8th grader and already stands 6’5. His father Chuck Eidson played at the University of South Carolina. Tripp for sure isn’t done growing at all. This young man will have a bright future while playing for his grandfather on this Panthers roster.
