Expert Analysis

Friedrichsen is a lefty that has a quick trigger from the three-point line. Because of his ability to shoot the basketball defenders have to consistently push up on him offensively. This allows him to get in the lane and find his teammates for wide-open opportunities. Although he is a lefty he doesn’t mind getting to his right hand to make plays happen as well. On the defensive end, he isn’t afraid to push up on an opposing team ball handler which makes it tough for him to advance the ball up the court.

A returning double figure scorer from last season, the senior is set up for another year of Bixby fans cheering on threes from a Friedrichsen. Just like his older brother, he’s one of the top pure shooters in Oklahoma. At a recent camp in OKC, it looks like his offensive game is expanding, with the ability to attack after being ran off the three point line. The one-two punch of Friedrichsen and Driver should cause headaches for opposing coaches, especially with how their shooting ability stretches the floor.

Luke was a great asset for Bixby this game by being able to take advantage of penetration from his teammates and knock down open shots. On the defensive end although Bixby chose to lay zone he was very active with his hands in disrupting the offense at the top and not allowing them to get in a rhythm. He ended the game with 12 points and was the spark that Bixby needed to secure the victory.

showed some flashes on the offensive end with shooting the ball. He knocked down a couple of threes in this one. He has a smooth jump shot and nice release to guide the ball. To go along with the two three-pointers, he shot 4/4 from the free throw line. This helped him finish with 10 points and he had a steal to go along with it. He played solid on-ball defense in this one and showed hustle by diving for the ball.

and Parker Firedrichsen squaring off. However, it was Friedrichsen’s younger brother Luke who would shine bright as the Spartans would win a shootout on the road with the Bruins. Friedrichsen, a junior, would finish with 21 points and shot 4-5 from beyond the arc. He also added five assists and four steals as the Spartans got a big road win. Friedrichsen has been known as a shooter and that was on full display on Tuesday night. They’ll look to continue that momentum this week when they participate in the Tahlequah tournament, featuring some strong teams in Class 6A and 5A.
