Tyran Cook Tyran Cook 6'1" | SG Waukesha South | 2023 State WI – 2023 – SG – Waukesha South
Cook had 18 points in the loss. The Blackshirts aren’t an overly deep team in terms of scoring capability. That being said, a lot is on Cook’s plate this season and there aren’t a lot of ways to alleviate that pressure. Every time Cook touches the ball, there’s going to be 10 eyes on him. Given the circumstances, thought Cook played a very solid game, getting the shots that were available and taking advantage of any mistake the defense made. If you meet Cook 1-on-1 at the rim, he’s more than likely coming out on top. Cook also did a phenomenal job of setting up teammates, especially when he got into the paint and defenders swarmed him. Cook walked that line of being selfish and selfless very well. South isn’t going to win a game like this if he’s taking 10+ low percentages shots per game, but at the same time, he’s gotta get his. Cook, a big strong, athletic guard, was also very opportunistic defensively and looked to get some offense via turnovers. Was impressed with how much he still had in the tank given that he only came off the floor once for a brief period.
Cole Hansen Cole Hansen 6'4" | SG Legacy Early College | 2024 State SC – 2024 – SG – Wauwatosa West
He’s always been a good all-around scorer, but Hansen is also quietly becoming an all-around player as well. The 6-foot-4 junior had a game-high 21 points, but also got nine boards and three assists from the guard spot. Setting the tone early, Hansen scored 13 points in the first half, which was key for the Trojans after coming off a disappointing loss over the weekend where they let a 20-point lead get away. Waukesha South’s zone really slowed the pace down in the second half, but Hansen had a key putback and a baseline drive when Tosa West wasn’t doing very much offensively. He would have liked to shoot it better from the foul line, but Hansen had a pair of free throws in the waning seconds that ended up being a difference maker.
Moses Long Moses Long 6'3" | SG Wauwatosa West | 2024 State WI – 2024 – W- Wauwatosa West
Thought Long was outstanding Wednesday night. He may not scored a lot of points, but the junior wing did just about everything else. Long was tasked with slowing down Cook and for the most part, made him work for everything in the halfcourt. Long also had long spurts defensively where he held his man without a clean look. When Tosa West was reeling in the second half, it was Long who stopped the bleeding in a 49-48 game, getting to the foul line and throwing a key alley-oop. Long finished with four points, five rebounds, four assists, two steals, and two blocks. Throughout his career, Long’s been a player that buys into doing the little things and it paid dividends for the Trojans, who got their first win of the season.
Daniel Robinson Daniel Robinson 6'2" | CG Waukesha South | 2023 State WI – 2023 – G – Waukesha South
Robinson had a really big second half to give Waukesha South a chance. The senior guard sparked the comeback with a couple of timely shots and steals on the defensive end. Robinson also hit a corner triple late to make it a one point game in the final seconds. A strong-two way guard that’s drastically improved as an outside shooter, Robinson has a bulldog mentality, but can now mix it up when defenses pack the paint on him. A top 50 prospect in the 2023 class, Robinson finished with a team-high 18 points in the loss.
Kai Rogers Kai Rogers 6'10" | C Wauwatosa West | 2025 State #41 Nation WI – 2025 – C – Wauwatosa West
Rogers dropped a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds. The sophomore big man helped blow the game open for Tosa West in the second half with six quick points, pushing the lead to double digits. At 6-foot-10, Rogers gets so much attention in the middle. He’s still been able to dominate games, even though he’s never getting 1-on-1 post touches. Rogers works the high-low game really well and as some incredibly good hands in traffic for his size/age, able to reel in passes with a defender in front and over the top.
