This side of the league is not as top heavy as the west side. All these teams will be in a dogfight just to make the playoff. I would lean towards Bellport to win the East. So in this report we will show the key players for their respective teams to win it.
Bellport: The proven player is Samir Bell. A really strong wing who is hard to knock off the ball. He is not only fast in transition he attacks and scores through contact. This year he goes from a complimentary role to the guy. I believe he will deliver. Young 2025 6”4 Sean Glynn Sean Glynn 6'4" | PF Bellport | 2025 State NY will have to be the added piece on this club. He has shown the ability to score the ball in a variety of ways. He can step out and drill the three or use his size to score inside. Might have to wait a little bit while he gains experience but the talent level is there.
Sachem East has a nice inside out duo. Big AJ Esposito a 6”5 post player who has committed to St Josephs university Long Island is a hard to move out of the post big. when he gets you on his back, its over. AJ commands the paint and is a force rebounding or defending the lane. Nick Kozlowski also is 6’5 but he is a different player. Deceptively quick handle gets him into the lane. He is more athletic then he looks. Very good shooting the three off the catch.
Sachem North has 6”1 guard Chris Lally. Chris has also committed to play at St Josephs university Long Island. Chris is a smart crafty guard. Very cerebral player. He almost looks like he surveys the lane or gap in the defense and then attacks. If you play him for the drive he can drain the three. But is go to move is a nice floater off the bounce.
Ward Melville has 6”0 senior guard Ben Sano to lead their attack. Ben is an excellent ball handler. He a floor general who distributes the ball to teammates in the right spot. The offense with Ben at the top runs very smooth. He has good court vision and awareness. Has displayed a nice stroke in the games we have seen him.
