How do you think your team and yourself performed throughout this season?
-To be honest I was disappointed in our tournament play, I feel like we could’ve gone all the way and we had a great group of guys to do that. Things just didn’t fall the way we wanted them to but I’m proud of my guys.
What was the biggest obstacle you and your team faced this season?
-My biggest obstacle this season was staying healthy from sickness. I played long stretches of games very sick including the whole state tournament. As a team a huge obstacle we faced was trying to live up to the hype and always playing every teams best version of themselves from being the 1 seed this season.
What do you think you improved most on the court?
-I feel like this season I did a ton of growing in my body as well as my game. I got a lot better with attacking the rim harder and playing off two feet. I improved on using my size to my advantage to defend and score against players bigger and smaller than me.
What are you looking to improve before the next level?
-For next season in college, I’m looking to get a lot stronger and more athletic. I am still growing and growing into my frame. I want to work on the inconsistencies in my jump shot at times and get it consistent and quick for next season.
Who are some teammates that you think stood out this season? Who are some teammates who could have breakout years next year in your eyes?

Previous Rank: 95rnSykes was kind of caught in between being a wing and a post, having the athleticism to succeed from the wings, but maybe lacking the shooting consistency and handle to really be a strong threat out there. He has completely squashed those concerns this season, improving his outside shot and rounding out his game while continuing to build on his strengths as a guy who will crash the boards and be a big threat in transition. He has a lot more potential to crack, even with the strides he made this season.

Sykes is a guy who has come into this season and grown in almost every facet of his game. He’s still that lanky, 6-foot-7 athlete who will slam a few home, but now he has an improved jumper that makes his drives to the rim a little easier. He’s also been a huge defensive asset for Pullman, showing quick, active hands and getting lots of strips and tips. He’s an impact guy who can really change the feel of a game with his length and activity.

He is the only other returning player who got meaningful minutes last season. At 6’5, he can provide more size and length while playing multiple positions. He has shown a nice skill set and improved over the summer as a player who can help out in multiple categories. He and Austin Hunt Austin Hunt 6'10" | C Pullman | 2024 State WA (6’10) junior should take on much bigger roles this season and provides Pullman with a lot of size. I look for them to make a deep run in March.

Dane is another player who is under the radar in my eyes. He has great size standing at 6’6″ and is able to play multiple spots on the court. His deep shot is very good, as he can hit the shot when it’s open or with a man in his face. He runs the court well, being able to fills holes fast and finish the push with a big slam. Dane reads the ball off the rim extremely well, leading to many rebounds for the senior. I’ll be watching his season closely this year.
