Games were competitive all day and several players burst on the scene for the first time. Here’s a look at some of the top shooters at the event.
Aidyn was not on our radar entering the day but had a really solid showing and shot the cover off the ball all day long. Brown was especially good as a catch and shoot player. He has a high arching shot that hot nothing but net for most of the day. Aidyn looks like he could be in for a growth spurt soon and should be a nice piece for John Hardin moving forward.
Seawright is another player whose name I hadn’t seen or heard before Saturday but I left impressed with the Spencer County guard. Samuel showed that he can knock down shots from range with comfort but also flashed some advanced playmaking over the course of the day. He’s a name to track in the 8th region for sure.
Not a lot to be said here that wasn’t already covered in our First Team article. Cole is known for his lights out shooting and after a slow start he got hot later in the day and showed that his reputation as a sniper from deep has been earned.
Jordan looks like he’ll be ready to help North Laurel in their pursuit of a state title this season. He showed a lightning quick release on his jump shot and no hesitation when he has a little bit of space. He also flashed some high level passing at times. Look for him to be among the best freshmen in the 13th region this season.
Hand down, man down if you’re guarding Bischoff. Cameron showed that he can knock down shots from deep and heats up quickly. Don’t leave him open because he’ll make a lot more than he misses. DeSales is LOADED with talent this season but it’s possible his shooting could earn him a role for the Colts.
